It's Christmas time, and I'm toying with the idea of upgrading my fish finder and chart plotter. [Tell me your] experience with [a LOWRANCE 522].--k

Good choice but if you can find the 527C for 100-150 more go for the 527. It is dual frequency and has an additional 2000 watts peak.

Joe- Just checked the price, the 527c is $50 more than the 522c. So in plain english, what's the difference in these machines?-k

Go to Lowrance.com and you can compare two different units by clicking on the COMPARE link. For the additional $50 you have to go with the 527. It is dual frequecy and almost twice as powerful at 4,000 watts. Peak power is the key on Lanier because of all the dead organic material and trees.

The 527 is the new version of mine.....the 337c. I really like it and it'll show you fish on Lanier believe me.....
