Offshore Systems U.K. Ltd. have created a very interesting NMEA-2000 device: it is a fuel filler cap which has a built in display that shows the tank level. The device replaces a typical fuel filler cap with a similar mechanical cap, but built into the escutcheon of the filler is a NMEA-2000 display which can plug into your vessel's NMEA-2000 digital network and read the tank level. In other words, this is a digital gas tank level gauge right at the filler pipe inlet.
