Hello, First time user. I did check to see if this topic was somewhere but didn't see it.

Just purchase a 2002 Yamaha 9.9 long leg with ability to charge the battery. I was hoping to find a wiring diagram that shows how to hook up a wire to the battery so it will keep it charged up. I have a [dual] battery system and not sure if I need to run the wire to both batteries. Thanks for any help you can give me.

The typical arrangement on an outboard motor is for the alternator output to be connected to the primary battery wiring under the cowling of the motor. On some motors, usually larger ones which have a high output charging system, there may be a second alternator output available. The second alternator output is usually provided on its own wire, and this second alternator output is then connected to an isolated battery.

Does your vessel have a primary battery distribution switch to manage the two batteries on board? Explain how they are connected.
