Installed a new RULE Super Switch float switch prior to my Proline CC 21 being launched, and I verified proper electrical and mechanical operation. The RULE Super Switch float switch lasted approximately one month before the mechanical operation became [prone to being] stuck in one position. I was able to move to any position and it would stay in that position. Electrically switch works fine. I replaced the switch with another RULE Super Switch float switch and this one lasted one week before the same problem occurred.

Is anyone else having the same problem with the RULE Super Switch float switch? Is there a correct fix to prevent? The switch has been mounted on a flat surface with no binding at time of installation.

I've suggested [an alternative switch, the Johnson Ultima Bilge switch] in previous posts with no replies. Seems like most people insist on using mechanical float swithces. Johnson Ultima Bilge switch--Cabelas carries them for less than $40. NO moving parts and has worked flawlessly for me. Hope this helps.

In a prior discussion the premature failure of RULE float switches was discussed:

The float switch on my c.1990 Boston Whaler is a MAYFAIR unit. It is still working, 18 years later. I would consider that to be a good endorsement of that brand.
