OMC Ficht EMM Refit

I recently posted an article on a 2002 90-HP FICHT Evinrude and a problem that lead to having the EMM refurbished. It turned out the original was unrepairable, however the guys at DFI Alabama had no equivalent 90-HP EMM core to replace it. They did have a 115-HP core, and told me it would do just fine as long as the hull could take it and would cost no more. After a delay in customs it returned and was duly bolted back on and dropped back off at my local dealers to synchronise the timing. I just had a phone from my dealer to say he was going to have to find out from BRP if the injectors now need changing! Have others had problems such as this? Oh how I love boating!

I would contact DFI again, they probably already programed the EMM for your injector calibration values if they could read your old values.

Thanks for the response, [I] did just ring the the people at DFI and they had done exactly what you said. So all [I] had to do was hook back up [the EMM] and turn the key. And--hey presto--she's running like a watch. I havent had it out on the water yet. So thanks for the advice, Len
