I'm doing what many others of you have done with considering replacing the gauges with the smart craft variety. I've found a lot of good info on this site, but just need one quick confirmation:

This Merc SmartCraft site shows the various outboards and the particular data that they can transmit via SmartCraft. smartcraftataglance/engines/outboards.php

This particular chart doesn't show the 90 HP "Veradito" engine that came on my 2008 Montauk 170 as being compatible.

However, on the particular product page, it does show it as SmartCraft Compatible. enginesetone_specs.php?ID=76

So what gives? Is this just another (there seem to be many) error on the Merc website? Since I've seen this install, I assume that it is compatible:

I'd just like to know what data I will receive and specifically what data from each guage. I'd love to replace just the tach and get as much as possible since the speed I get from my GPS. Thanks for any help

If you do a search here, I have posted the part numbers of what you will need to do the installation, and what info you get from it. Others have added to that post as well.
