On June 12th in another discussion (in which unspecified rumors and comments were being used to defame another manufacturer) I brought up the topic of RAYMARINE having some financial woes and linked to several articles on that topic. Quoting myself, I said:

"Industry insiders are talking about a possible failure for RAYMARINE due to lack of capital,"

and I gave a link to stories at idUSBNG50218020090612 idINBNG50218020090612 raymarine_looking_for_funds_or_outright_sale Raymarine-to-raise-funds-or-outright-sale-of-the-business/57980

I, for one, will be sorry to see them go (if they do).

I've gone through several generations of Raymarine electronics on my boat in the past ten years.

I was very disappointed when they quit making standalone fish finders, and handheld VHF radios.

Dave--I agree. I like RAYMARINE equipment, too.

I don't know a thing about capital financing for British companies.

I don't think they are many companies whose main business is recreational boating that are doing very well in our current economy.
