I removed the SH from my Ventura two years ago & replaced it with an ICOM 504 rear mic version. The reason I did this was to standardize my VHF's. My wife is my 1st and only mate and was a happy I did it .... she likes this.

After looking at the my area under my helm I found some extra room so I decided wo reinstall the Phantom. I installed a Shakespeare AS-2 Auto coaxile switch so I can auto share one of my two VHF antennas between my ICOM 504 rear mic version and my Phantom. The two remote mics are installed side by side under my Garmin 545.

One of the nice features of the 210 Ventura is it has a large under helm bulkhead area to install electronics. The Phantom/Icom 504 share NMEA data with my Garmin 545. The ICOM has two way NMEA connectivity and the Phantom one way NMEA connectivity (receives position info) wiht the Garmin 545. That way the ICOM will be the only VHF to send DSC info to the Garmin.
