[On a Boston Whaler 170 MONTAUK] as anyone mounted the [VHF Marine Band radio antenna] on the bow rail and used the forward rigging tunnel to route the [coaxial transmission line from a VHF Marine Band radio] to the bow?

My concern with mounting a VHF Marine Band radio antenna on the bow of a small boat (like a Boston Whaler 170 MONTAUK) is for the bow to be in considerable motion. This puts the antenna in motion. WIth the antenna in motion you have mechanical stresses on the antenna and its mount. You also have motion influences on the propagation of signals from the antenna and the reception of signals to the antenna.
