This morning I had a lesson I thought I had learned well in the past driven home to me yet again.
Yesterday I finished the installation and interconnection of a Garmin GPSMAP 740S and a Standard Horizon GX1500S VHF radio.
When I turned the PWR/VOL switch clockwise to turn on the VHF the radio did not come on. Boy was that disappointing. So I figured it was one of three things; improper installation, no connection to an antenna, or blown fuse. I checked the fuse this morning and it look good. So, I decide to read the manual to learn if the radio can be turned on if the antenna is disconnected. Looking at the troubleshooting chart the first entry I see says, a. check the fuse and connections, and b. the power key needs to be pressed and held to turn the radio on.
I think I'll try pressing instead of turning.

Your not alone :)
It took me a couple of checks of the battery switch before I realised it had to be pushed, on my GX2100.
It's more of a slight push and hold than a click.
