[Give advice] on how to re-wire a [combined sidelight lamp] for a [a 1969 Boston Whaler 16-foot boat]. It appears that the old wires go directly through the foam in the hull without the benefit of conduit. Unfortunately the old wires have melted. Apparently there wasn't a fuse. I don't think the old wires can be used to pull new ones through. Your advice is appreciated.

I think you are asking about a Boston Whaler boat. The topic is covered in the FAQ:

The navigation lamp at the bow is typically a COMBINED SIDELIGHT. There is no navigation light that is called a BOW LIGHT.
