ACR has discontinued the AquaFix 406 GPS I/O P-EPIRB. When they first came out, they were $600. Various internet distributers are now selling them for under $200, while they last. This is a chance to get a good manually activated EPIRB (with onboard GPS receiver) at the cheapest price I’ve ever seen.

I bought mine over a year ago for a lot more than $200. I wonder why it was discontinued?

Thank you for the post. This will make a great birthday present for my father.

I think it was discontinued because the new replacement has a few more bells and whistles.

It has a digital readout and a strobe. It also lets you send "I'm ok" messages like the Spot. You can buy a strobe for $20.

It is also costs 450 bucks.
