I am looking for comments from owners of the previous generation of Lowrance fish finders who have upgraded to the new HDS series. I now have an LMS332c installed and am considering an upgrade to the HDS series. For units with comparable screen size, what is your real world experience? Do you think the improved performance was worth the expenditure? Did it help you to catch more fish?

I cannot offer any experience with a Lowrance LMS-33x SONAR, but I can tell you that my HDS-8 SONAR gave good bottom echoes in 800-feet of water when on the 200-kHz setting while the boat was on-plane and moving 25-MPH. I thought that performance was remarkable, which is why I am remarking about it now.
