To anyone using a FURUNO NavNet 1834c: I plan to replace my boat RADAR and have the opportunity to acquire a compete unit with the 4-kW dome. [Solicits comments about the FURUNO NavNet 1834C.] |

I don't personally use this Furuno unit, but it does have a good reputation from what I've heard and read. Furuno gear is general well respected and is the most common in my area on commercial and government vessels. The 1834c is an older unit and has since been replaced by NavNet 3D |

For some time I have been a little hesitant to [make a purchase decision] on this [FURUNO NavNET system]. Back in December I stumbled upon a lead for a new NavNet system complete. I sent a check with the same feeling as buying a lottery ticket, upon coming home today I feel as I have won this one. At the door were 6 boxes containing a complete Furuno NavNat 1834C monitor, Dome, wires, heading sensor, video interface and infrared remote. All brand new in unopened factory boxes. http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x44/ribside/1834.jpg This 10.4 inch display will compliment my Hummingbird 1197SI at the helm of my 1982 25 Walk Around , should be quite a step up from the old 2Kw RADAR as this one willoverlay the RADAR on the GPS chart. (no I didn't spend nearly close to the $5,000 retail price of this unit.) http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x44/ribside/cmap.jpg Hurry up Spring. |

That looks like the "the deal of the century." I look forward to hearing of the installation and the performance of the gear. |
