Today I ordered [a Garmin GXM40] to use with my Garmin 640. I want XM radio onboard since our FM reception is so poor here on Hood Canal. Bought a Bosch Power Box radio to provide the required speakers for great sounding tunes on board. I'll report after my installation is complete. [I am] curious how XM Radio was working for other folks out there. Thanks--Steve

My sedan automobile has Sirius radio. I listen to the NHL Channel (207) whenever I am in my car, which is only about an hour per day. The satellite reception is augmented in urban areas by a terrestrial signal that backs up the satellite signal. This allows reception to continue when you are indoors, under overpasses, or in buildings. On the water there should not be much concern about overhead obstructions.
