I'm doing some work on a Whaler that has twin 1979 80 HP Mercury inline 4 cylinder motors...with the old external hydraulic pumps.I am looking for gauges for this boat as the ones currently on the boat are mis-matched and well worn. What I "need" are tachometers and water PSI gauges. Trim indicators would be great as well.
Are there any guidelines re: looking at tachs for motors this old? I know I don't need to waste my money on system check or equivalent gauges.
What I've found interesting is a combination gauge from Faria: the GTC027A.

It interests me because I'd like to de-clutter an already crowded Whaler console...a twin engine rig is already somewhat overwhelming for a person new to operating twins, and this boat will likely be one that is used by multiple family members at a summer home...no children, just adults - but still.
Anyway - can you guys help me with some guidelines to look for?
Thanks.
