I purchased a Jensen MSR2007 when I bought my 190 in 2008. Worked great till about a week and a half ago when one of the speaker channels went dead. Decided that almost 5 yrs was a good ride so I bought the updated Jensen JMS 2212 from Amazon. It's almost the same radio with a little more power.
Was advised by Jensen that I had to change out my current remote, I-Pod cables and additional remote hook up cables, about $140.00 in additional costs plus enlarge a 2" hole to 2 7/8" hole as the new remote is larger.
Purchased the new radio from Amazon, rcvd it 2 days later did the install and the radio won't work. Will not shut off, will not change modes and only tunes in to FM stations for about 30 seconds and than cuts out and comes back on again and repeats the process. Contacted Jensen troubleshooted the radio and determined the radio was defective.
Called Amazon as I need the radio installed by Fri as my wife and I are going on a mini Vac with the boat! Decided to buy the same radio rush shipment and resolve the problem. Ordered 2nd radio from same seller next day service, rcvd radio but hooked it up before installing, bingo same exact problem to the tee....
Wrote a nasty note to seller they wrote back explaining that some sellers on Amazon sell returned or refurbished products as new. They don't. They also explained that when two different sellers sell the same product that these products are sometimes mixed together and pulled from their shelves thus poisoning the pool.
Purchased a 3rd radio on E-Bay to get away from the possible bad batch. Express shipping for tomorrow $50 bucks, priceless........ Thirds the charm!

Something's are just better purchased from solid on-line marine electronics stores. Reviews for BOE marine electronics have always been very good on this forum and I have purchased from them with excellent support.

I second the BOE recommendation. I've bought from them and can tell you the customer service is excellent. They have a brick and mortar store just outside of Annapolis, MD...not just an internet retailer.
