my fishbox mercerator light comes on at the instrument panel rocker switch but the right nor the left pump activates. I replaced both pumps last year. the boat lives in the slip.
please help troubleshoot this problem. the pumps are very hard to get to in my 2003 255 conquest

The illumination of a pilot lamp is generally interpreted to mean that the branch circuit in which the pilot lamp is wired has been energized. If the loads connected to that branch circuit are operating normally, and if the electrical distribution wiring in the branch circuit is intact, the most reasonable conclusion is that the loads will be supplied with electrical power.

If a load is supplied with electrical power and the device is not operating normally, the most reasonable conclusion is the device is malfunctioning.

If the pilot lamp indicator is not wired directly to the load, the pilot lamp indicator could receive electrical power but the load might not if there were a discontinuity in the branch circuit wiring.
