Chestertown Teaparty as of this post we expecting 34 Boston Whalers for this RENDOVOUIS. The local dealer is threatening to show up with a new boat. We will provide gas grills to cook on,restrooms, and pavilion. We can accommodate docking for about 20 boats a strategic use of fenders is suggested , If you have a favorite beach chair we would like to see them. This is a fun event for the whole family we are planning for 86 deg.and 3-5 knot winds. You do not have to be a member of the club, just have a whaler. We are an informal group no President, treasuer or board of directors to boss us,just a bunch of guys trying to find different ways to enjoy our boats . The Chesapeake Bay Boston Whaler Club sponsors this event to recruit Boston Whalers to help us with The Great Chesapeake Bay Swim.We need all the whalers we can get for this event. 600 people swim from Sandy Point State Park to Kent Island,to raise money for the March of Dimes. Last year over 50,000 was raised to benefit these children. We also support various other swims around the area, from the Gunpowder to the Potomac River. Tailoring from the north take 301 S. To MD 544 to Deep Landing Rd. A county landing permit is required let me know and I will have them available when you get there.Coming from the South the best ramps are in Kent Narrows .We have 2 cruise captains to help you launch let me know I will send names and phone numbers.Launching should be between 7:00-8:00 AM Be underway by 8:00 sharp to be docked and or rafted 9:00 to see parade come at 10:00 if you want to be in it. Scott, If not too late to 'register', we will plan to join you. It sounds like great fun. We will likely come by water, running down from the Sassafras, in a 22 Outrage. We'll look for a crowd of Whalers, and we will bring some fenders! Best regards, Ted |

10 of us will be on the bay that weekend on the yawl. We usually go from Galesville to St. Michael's. Now all I have to do is convince the 4 other adults and bribe the kids to go to Chestertown instead. Hmmmm...leave the adults on shore and lock the kids down below until we get to Chestertown with Whaler in tow should do it. We were there last year for the first time (Chestertown Tea Party) and had a really nice time. Will try to make it. Look for a 'project' boat with dolphins on either bow. LaSalle is the name. Took the mizzen mast down a few years ago for repairs so it may or may not be back on. If we're there please stop by as I'm sure we'll have plenty of refreshments on board! Wish me luck convincing. |

I'm going to try to make it, in an old 13' sport. It all depends on the weather, though. Kevin |

There weren't many that showed, and I don't blame you. It rained like a son-of-a ... But Sunday was nice and the Festival went on as planned. Scott - Thanks for setting it up. My Family and I had a great time and we'll be there again next year. Any time you or any of the rest are down in the Hampton Roads Area, let me know. |

And Rain it did! Stamp, I think I was tied up next you? Sunday was beautiful but my wife and I had to cut out of town early. It was fun to meet the few hardy souls that showed up. B Bear and I walked around town and grabbed some lunch and checked out the Tea Party. Very nice town and it was too bad the weather was crappy. We will try again next year and I think I will head down again as it isn’t very far from us, Only 1 ½.Thanks for all your help and hospitality Scott. I am going to see if I can help out on one of the swims. Blackdog (Gene)

A thousand pardons, fellow Whaler-ers at Chestertown Tea Party. I did the best I could to get there but failed miserably. Some weather Friday night and Saturday, huh? Started motoring on the yawl from West River Sat around 2 pm. 15-25 kt. head wind, 1-2 foot seas @ 2500 rpm and with the Whaler in tow only managed 2.3 kts forward progress over ground. According to gps it would have taken us 14 hours and we would have arrived around 4 am. (BTW, towing the Montauk slows us about 1 full knot.) Turned around and headed back to the marina to get waterlogged adults and kids off into warm showers and off to the movies then Starbucks. Anyhow, anyone want to get together for some Striper fishing soon? I'm still learning the area/techniques on the Bay and always need input. |

Well I am glad I went. It just blows my mind that the entire month was dry except for that week end. I am sorry I missed Dauntless 18, but I saw his Conquest and it was beautiful. Stamp and his family great and I spent a little time with Blackdog and his wife. My Thanks goes out to Scott for the goodies and for setting it all up. To bad the rest did not go to dinner with us we had some good prime rib later on. I'll be there again next year and I will look forward to getting to know everyone a little better. Arch I'd love to go fishing, There is not much action going on right now ...... must be a bad moon, cosmic tides and unseasonalby cold water. I hear there might be some bottom fishing, but nothing to get excited about right now. Bear |

Thanks to Scott who organized the Tea Party rendezvous. Also, it was great to meet other Whaler owners who helped out and are stout.hearted foul weather sailors. Ray and Linda |
