Dan, It all depends on where you start from and when. It's about a 90 mile ride from my harbor. If I were to go in something trailerable, I'd trailer to Point Judith, RI or somewhere like that. |

I would also trailer to Point Judith. I've made the trip by ferry a hundred times, but never by boat. It seems easy enough, I've actually seen jet skis follow the ferry across. Is there a ramp near Point Judith or do you have to go to one of the marinas in Galalee or Charlestown?Dan |

I might be interested in a Block Island trip. I am docked in Boston -- the trip is about 85-90 miles for me (maybe a bit more but so far as to worry). When are you thinking about going? There is a marina / hotel called Camplin's (I think that this is the correct name).bhl |

I used to surf the Pt. Judith area when I lived in CT, and there is a boat ramp there. I wouldn't reccomend it if there is any swell at all, since this was one of our favorite surf spots. It's locally know as Monahan's Pier, and the ramp is protected by a short jetty, with open ocean just beyond. Very surgy to be sure, and as I recall, not a very large dock to tie up to. We used to jump off the end of the pier with our surfboards to safe a little bit of paddling....I'd try Weekapaug or Galalee |
