I was wondering if anyone would like to organize a Nova Scotia Rendezvous. We could leave Pictou and go to Prince Edward Island, or we could leave Halifax and go to Sheet Harbour where I live. Is there enough interest in the forum to plan a trip in this area. I would not mind working on one, what do you think ???

That would be a great idea. I'd like to leave Detroit about June 1st and cruise downstream on the St. Lawrence all the way to Pictou. Would anyone be willing to drive my car and trailer out there so I can haul the boat and bring her back?Seriously, I would really like to cruise around PEI and NS. We were there on land in 1997 and really enjoyed it. But hauling the boat out there on a trailer from Michigan looks like about a 3-4 day drive at 55 MPH. Were we in closer range, we'd definitely be in on this one! --jimh |

You are late with your post. Just got back from a week in PEI. Was trying to find someone to team up with since March. By the way a tandem trailer is a real lifesaver when you get a blowout at 55. Regards Laird |

I went to school in Antigonish. I remember Pictou as having the meanest rugby club that we ever played! I would be interested in this for next summer...Have to save time off for bird hunting, fall trout, etc. Great idea, though! |

Too many vacations already this year. We have out-laws that have a couple summer cottages in LaHave (?) Right next to Crescent Beach. Anyhow, I have often thought of contacting you, newportguy, and arranging a trip there. I had remembered you were from there. (Aren't you?) I would really like to explore around there with someone that's knowledgeable of the area. It really is beautiful up there. I'm not accustomed to all the rocks though. In Erie, for the most part, and the Chesapeak and Florida the only think you hurt when you run aground is your pride. In NS, you take out bottom pieces and lower units if you aren't alert! Hope you and others have the interest in doing it next year, say, around July-August. And, equally important, how's the fishing there? Lots of Mackerel as I recall. And I almost forgot the Sculpin. When fish were made something went awry there! Arch |

I agree this summer is just about shot.... But we could sure plan one for next year... Out of interest how many people are from PEI or NS or NB who visit this forum often... |
