That will be a great trip. I did the same except went to Beaufort in June. I would like to do again but that weekend is the first Citadel home game.

I have a 22 revenge with a black top. I see your post on charlestonfishing.com also. Do you go offshore alot? I would like to hook up and make that run again, also follow you offshore some time as well. I mostly go to the 60 and try to fish there.

The trip was great!!! 81 miles one way, beautiful southern lowcountry at its best!! We stopped at downtown marina in Beaufort for fuel and walked to a restaurant for lunch. The public dock was full sat. so the attendant let us dock at their place long enough to eat. Thats service!!!

How long did the trip from Charleston to Beaufort take you? From where in the Charleston area did you leave? Thanks.

I have heard that trip is kind of tricky, by that I mean following the ICW. Did you find it hard and did you use any maps?

You're up EARLY!!! Yes, I bought the charts from Boaters world..$17 ea. Its well marked except one sound where the distance between markers is so great there is a compass heading on the chart. Other than that its not a problem. I think that part is on the other side of Beaufort, I dont have the chart here. I reccomend getting the chart but if you want some more particulars (marker #'s,etc.) e-mail me.

It does get a litle hairy near monkey island. I went from Chas SC to Litchfield Beach ( Reserve Marina on ICW) a couple of weeks ago, it is just as pretty as the Beaufort trip, and a lot more straight. Reelescape are you going to buy the 15? If not let me know I may want to look at it.

reelscape1 - I'm in Germany right now supporting the C-17's, that's how it's so early. Believe me I wouldn't get up at 2am unless the house was on fire. Anyway, I get home next friday and can't wait. I'll have a few days off when I get back and might try the trip then. My buddy bought the charts so I probably borrow his for the first time.

Post how the trip goes...there are a couple of good restaurants just downtown. Ask the dock-hand to reccomend one, I think we went to Oscars or Ollies, something like that. Good food and COLD beer!!!
