I have had one response to this post, so in the famous words of Bigshot......BUMP!!! How about if any other Whalers in the great Republic of TEXAS would let me know if they are interested. The Lone Star State has a lot of Whalers, and it would be great if we could get together somewhere. Corpus?, Galveston?, Sam Rayburn?, Lake Fork?, Port Aransas?, Padre Island?, Matagorda? Let's do something. |

I am scheduled up until about mid-August, but would be interested in a late August get-together. Not on a weekend on a crowded lake, though. Red sky at night. . . |

WP, this has been tried before with no success, see http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/000049.html . Like you I'm having a hard time believing that there are only 4 BW owner's in TX who would be up for a GTG. Email me directly if you wish. Don |

We are now up to 6 Whalers in Texas. We are on a roll. My schedule will not permit anything until late August also and I agree with avoiding crowded lakes on weekends (or any other day). A Thursday-Friday deal would work for me with enough pre-planning. I am not yet retired and only have 10 days vacation per year which the family burns up pretty quick and I doubt if my 2 year old would last long at a rendezvous. Since we do have an interest in this, how about if we try to keep the post alive and determine a location and date for sometime next spring? |

I would be up for a GTG in late Aug., or Sept. Weekends work best for me. I keep my boat near Texoma, so somewhere north of Dallas would be best. |

No, there are at least 5 Whaler owners in the area. Sorry, but I have been out of town and missed all these posts. I live in the DFW area (Allen). I remember there used to be a rendezvous near Galveston, I think Meeks Marine (Whaler dealer) was involved. I never went. -Dave- |

Hi Guys, I just bought a 1974 13' Sport last week and would be interested in a Get Together. I live in Richardson and would suggest Cedar Mills on Texoma. I just registered with this forum today, so I'm new but reading a lot fast. What a great resource! Don |

Welcome aboard Don! Nice to see another Lone Star Whaler on the Forum. I'm in Fort Worth and cruise Grapevine quite a bit. I'll add you to the distribution list and we'll get this thing together. Richard |

Port O'Connor is the obvious place for a rendezvous. It has the largest concentration of Whalers of any location on the coast, not to mention great fishing. BillS |

Bump! Only because interest is escalating and maybe we can include some Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas Whalers in this. Special thanks to all of the Lone Star Whalers who have responded. We'll build this and have a great event! |

Bump. This will be the last bump until October. I will continue to plan the event and bring this back to the top when I have new information. To those who have put a rendezvous together before, your email input would be greatly appreciated. I have many questions and would love to correspond with you. Special thanks for all of your patience in putting up with me bumping this thread. Especially to JimH. |

Noswah: Does the club ever have a Rendezvous? I'll be joining, but if the club does this, then it would be better joining in on that one. Thanks for the info. This is a great deal. |

I jus checked out the club's website and it looks pretty cool. Long drive from DFW but maybe some of us here could start a local chapter. For $25.00 though you get a lot of benefits, especially if you like saltwater. I am re-posting the link so you only need to click it: |

WP, Lake Travis sounds good since it's central and would be more equitable--besides I live in Austin! :) Maybe by May '03 I will actually own a Whaler! I'm actively shopping for a '15, going to look at one this Sunday. |

Poker: We need to get together some time. My wife's family spends quite a bit of time in Austin (I guess the fact that all of them are UT may have something to do with it) so we usually follow. Send me an email when you have a chance. |
