Any of you chaps live near Kalamazoo,Toronto or Montreal and fancy taking a travelling Brit out on the water in October?
I know its a bit cheeky but my girlfriend and I are over at the beginning of October for two weeks and it would be interesting to put some faces to names.

Not out of line at all. Let us know if you make it to Seattle.

Jacko -

I'm located in Port Huron, Michigan which is about 1/2 way between the 'Zoo and Toronto. If your going to drive between the two, I'll be glad to take you and your girlfriend out.

It will give me a good reason to wash her and throw her in the water one more time.

I can be reached at:

Thanks for your kind invite - unfortunately we'll be going over your home at about 20,000ft as were flying from Kalamazoo to Toronto. I am picking a car up from Toronto but heading north to Montreal.
Go on throw it in one more time anyway.
If you ever visit the UK let me know.

I live in Battle Creek (about 20 miles East of Kazoo on I-94), and haul my Outrage 22 over to Lake Michigan, going right past Kazoo, *many* times during the season.

Making a run in October as an excuse to meet another Whaler afficianado, especially one from as far away as you, would tickle my fancy to no end! And nothing "cheeky" about it.

Why don't you e-mail me about your plans, dates, times, location, etc. and we'll see if we can't put something together-

Fantastic News!
My plan is to arrive in Kalamazoo on 3rd October evening stay with a friend who lives there and i've got a flight out on saturday AM on the 5th October. My mobile number, which will work in USA is 00447767768647. My friend Joes' home number is 0016163446313. Unfortunately (or not!) i'll be on my own as my girlfriend will be working in Montreal. I have no plans as yet apart from a 'micro brewery' tour!!
If you cant make it dont worry but thanks for trying.
Where about do you take your BW on lake Michigan? I've been to South Haven a few times and can just remember what the place is like.

Depends on the weather and the level of passion (insanity) of the skipper! I'm sure I'll be doing something still in October. Last fall, due to some unforseen circumstances I trailered Outre' up to the North Channel of Lake Huron and spent a few hours in the water up there in mid-November.

I'll try to carve out at least the afternoon if not the day of Friday Oct. 4 so if weather permits we can get out on the lake. I have full Mills canvas, so we can take some weather conditions that might otherwise be problematic. I can pick you up on the way by Kazoo.

More often than not I'll put in at South Haven, but I also use Benton Harbor/St. Joseph on occasion. They are both about 60 miles from me but the Benton Harbor/St. Joe route is almost entirely on I-94, so it's a little quicker.

If the weather doesn't co-operate, I'd still enjoy meeting you when you're in the area. We can keep in touch and work out the details as the dates get closer-

Never heard from you - everything OK over there?

I was never able to reach you on your cell phone although I tried a couple of times, and the messages I left on your friends' answering machine went unanswered.

Hope all is well.

Wasn't Jacko the fellow who wanted to put 800 HP or something on his Whaler? Maybe he did himself in!
