See September issue of Soundings for a story on 2002 Simmons Seaskiff meet. My brother from Tampa, the wives and I attended last year and had a great time. No, we don't have Simmons but he was intrested in building a boat.
Understand difference between home location, all original Seaskiffs were built in Wilmington, and casual afternoons spent with other locals and BW scattered everywhere. Nevertheless, this is example of successful plan and execution from the Simmons folks.
People will come to an event that is planned and publicized well ahead of time. I could help with getting details from the organizers if anyone is interested.

Happyjim, interested in attending, or the material as an example. Crocker Marine at Wrightsville has been turning out about 70 BW and maybe 90 Grady White for their annual one day fishing fishing tournament.
They are losing BW so this year they had the Crocker Customers Tournament. Participation was down. We have been to two with two 1st place plaques. Montauk is my wifes. She really gets a charge out of going up on the stage to receive the plaque.
Maybe we could have a BW rendezvous, one day, many winners, tournameent. Crocker gives plaques for 1st and 2nd place in kids, BW and GW. This year only kids and all other.
As part of the awards Crocker has an open bar and snacks followed by barbeque, or shimperoo, or this year, barbeque, shrimp and fried chicken. Suspect the factories kick in and it is a business promotion. Cost this year was $65 per boat which included four event tee shirts, and four dinners. Additional dinners were $10.
A more reasonable starting might be a Saturday or Sunday afternoon at some place like Masonboro Island. Maybe two or three successive weeks or successive weeks or multiple schedules at different locations.
A big problem would be getting the word out. Have no idea how many CW partcipants within Va, NC, SC area.

I would like to attend, always looking for an excuse to sneak away from work. I have never been boating down your way so it would be a nice adventure. I know some other people with BW's and will ask them what they think. Lots of BW's in the Virginia Beach area too. Colley Marine in VA Beach sells a ton of boats. I launch down the street from them when fishing the Chesapeake Bay/bridge Tunnel.
I'll stop in and ask them about any fishing tournaments they may sponsor.
