Just a question on how many of our cw friends are going to the show in Miami? It is just around the corner. Would be great to see some of our members there in our cw t-shirts. I for one will be there with mine. Hope to see a good meny of you! Lou/Whaler3

Whaler3,
Where in Miami is the boat show? I wonder if they have
a web site? I live in St.Pete thats at least 4 hours
from where we live.Is that one of the biggest boat shows
in the nation? I'm trying to talk the wife and kids into
going. We would have to leave by no later than 6AM on
Valentine's day.

Ed it is one of the biggest ion the world and definately a sight to see. You can't see 1/2 of it in a day. I have been to Ft Lauderdale before and Miami is supposably about 50% larger. Should take you about 3-3.5hours to get there being it takes me about 2.5-3 depending on traffic, etc.

I will NOT be attending this year, too much on my plate right now.

One more day to the BIG show. Guess there will only be two CW members there. Brother-in-law and me. Hoped to see some faces but I guess that is not to be. The new X engines buy Mercury may be the highlite on the show. (and I am a Yamaha man) Will put a report in here after. Lou

I used to have to work the show- It is HUGE. If you can at all possibly go on a vendor day-MidWeek, do it. You will see much more, and be treated a lot better. Gots to have the connections though. Public days were always a nightmare for me- but I am in the electrical business, so dealing with vendors was much more productive for us. Probably not so for boat manufacturers.

We went to the boat show on Saturday.Had a great time.
They had shuttles going to the boats in the water.
We never made it there.Whaler had both recreational
and commercial products displayed at different locations.

I looked at Whalers,Regulators,Contenders,Duskys,
World cats,Everglades(These were impressive),HellsBay,
yellowfin,Hewes,Pursuits and many more.

In the 24foot range Whaler was not the most expensive.
The Regulators looked to be fine built boats,But 97K
for a 24 footer!WOW!

It seems alot of builders are going to hard tops
for their T-tops.The Everglades had everyone beat
as far as hardtop design. They have molded in speakers,
lights, and electronic boxes into the under side of
the tops.

In my opinion todays consumers do their homework
on large purchases such as boats. The salespeople
should know their product. The salespeople would
benefit knowing some of the companys past products
in order to push the so called new and improved
boats, engines, designs. Is it me or do some of those
sales people seem to be total idiots.

After going to the Miami show for the first time,
Next year I think I'll try to go for Friday and Saturday.
That is the Academy awards of boat shows!
