As posted by Jimh on Cetacea page #77:

LHG had a long conversation with Will Rogers, S.E. Regional Sales Manager at Boston Whaler. He encouraged us to return in April for the factory sponsored Boston Whaler Owners Open Fishing Tournament in Stuart, Florida. The event drew a nice crowd last year—don't miss it! It will be April 16-18. There will be plenty of prizes and promotions, and a host of Boston Whaler and Mercury people will be on hand, along with many other Whaler owners. For more information call 800-WHALER9.

Except for the "possible" corporate BS....sounds like a great event that I know many here have attended in the past...who's going?

My friend Kimberly and I went to this event last year. Swellmonster showed on Saturday to crash the fesitvites, and we all had a blast "surfing the 13" thru Hells Gate. LHG, Backlash, and a few others came as well. There was a small fishing tournament, inwhich Kimberly and I took In-Shore Lady Anglers in. There were plenty of goodies by the factory vendors other than Mercury; food; cash bar; VALET BOAT PARKING! It rained real hard on Firday night, and my boat fulled with water. The Photographers got a roll full of pictures, as it still didn't let the engine go down. The marina guys, pulled my boat out of the water; then re-launched for us on saturday after the rain. They store your trailer in their locked fence, so you can run around town if needed. I recommend this trip for those who missed it last year. See ya,

We will be there. Checked and not scheduled to work that weekend so we should be good as long as it doesn't rain.

Janis and others, yes, I'm planning on attending again and hoping to have a "Surprise Celebrity Guest" with us.
Without diverting this Stuart event thread too much, the card I picked up at the show also indicated factory events in Sarasota 5/22-24 at the Sarasota Hilton, and in Bimini, Bahamas, 7/8-11 at Bimini Sands Condominium (Trafficlawyer take note).

The BW post card says: (and I hope it's OK to quote this)

"It's time for another round of fun, fishing and socializing to add even more pleasure to owning a Whaler. You, your family and guests are invited to any or all of these great weekend events, featuring a variety of activities everyone will enjoy - food, entertainment, giveaways, fishing tournaments and much more. You can even bring your Whaler!
Register now to attend and to receive information about each event as it becomes available. Contact your Florida Boston Whaler dealer or call 1-800-WHALER 9. If you've never attended one of these events, you're in for a treat. Join Boston Whaler staff and other Whaler owners at any or all of these events."

From having attended last year, I can second the above.

I will more than likely attend both. Mainly because the one in Sarasota will not be 1/2 the size as Stuart's.

$25 entrants fee and I have Whaler sending me the form for Stuart with guidelines, events, etc. If anyone wants it, e-mail me and I will forward it to you. Sarasota is not finalized yet but when it is she will e-mail me that form as well. We SHOULD wear our CW shirts so make sure you have one...or 2.

Who lives near the event?

I'm in for Sarasota; Stuart's a little too much of a haul, unless it's a smashing good time....

WOW... Stands for What Outstanding Whalerevents!
Gunna have to consider a better tow vehicle.

Probably will make Stuart. Would kill to make Bimini.

Not me....Bahamas just bumped the customs duty from like $50 to $200. The can kiss my Floridian hull bottom if they think I'm gonna pay their taxes and then pay $7 a beer.

LHG riding up or trailering up to the event.

Due to the recent flack over the customs duty, the Bahamians have decided to allow two trips into the territory (within 90 days)for the same great fee of $200. I like no trips for $0.00 better.

Where can I get info on the Bimini deal? Anybody else planning on going? Is Whaler going to run across the stream with a mothership?

Jack - I thought you might be interested in this, but I don't know what the plan is. Try the Whaler phone # given above. We will definitely not be able to make it.
