I am thinking about it, would like to see everyone again.

Let's start planning a May rendezvous, but not on Memorial day weekend. I have a family reunion all weekend.

We can't do the Stuart or the Sarasota thing, unfortunately, but a May rendezvous closer to these parts sounds like a fine idea. And we're up for meeting anybody on the water anytime else as well, for any less-organized Whaler fellowship.

Agree that Memorial Day weekend is best avoided, because of all the crowds everywhere. Hopefully, we'll have better weather this time!

Bob, yeah, the E-Tec is running great and has proven a good choice for my little boat. I'll post an update to that mammoth thread over in Performance once I have time to test out the 15-pitch propeller that finally arrived yesterday.

I'll be monitoring this forum for talk of any "action" as far as a local rendezvous, but the May timeframe Tully mentioned sounds good.

I can't go to Stuart because we're headed north to Birmingham that weekend. Sarasota is probably a no-go for us as well, but perhaps it's too early to say. Baby Samantha just turned 9 months old, and she's keeping us busy. A nice, small-water rendezvous like Bigshot and the gang had down in Florida on the river last month would be the ideal thing for us, our small boat and our small family, but Sam had not yet been on the boat when that thing went down. She's only had one very short outing since.

For that matter, the trip to B'ham to see the folks will be the longest Sam has been in the car at a single stretch!

Hi guys:
I'm with tully on a local get together later. Would enjoy seeing everyone again, and meeting some new folks. We might even be able to get a larger group together this year. Knot glad to see you back. Have you got the new waters down, glad to here the house is moving on. Was in Perdido Bay last Saturday, sure was pretty.
Mike glad to here you are happy with the new motor and that things are coming together. I'll keep an eye open for some more talk on a happening.
Buddy

Navarre Beach has a great new facility - really nice ramp and tons of parking. That might get the Fort Walton Beach/Panama City people into it. I will try my best to make it.

I will actually in june be in Destin with my 275 for a week's vacation if that is of any interest for a rendezvous there. What does anyone think about mid June in Destin/Navarre? It would be neat to brag to some of my Pursuit and Grady nemisis' that we had many folks show up for this one. Though our current record of folks still greatly out numbers any Pursuit and Grady roudups in this area to date. :)

BTW, I am in Orange Beach this weekend buzzing around in the 275. Maybe I will see some of you..

bwmenemsha,

You have any trouble getting your whaler into the mouth of Heron Bayou? I got up to the mouth at slack tide on Saturday, drew 2 feet of water depthe between the white pvc poles and made in with my motor trimmed up a bit. Not sure of the depths or where to actually steer in the bayou headed south to the 98 bridge... any pointers?

High tide shouldn't be a problem but man that low tide made me nervous.

Jeff

p.s. Did see the fella in the red row boat wearing a thong and a funny name on his boat....

Jeff...Sorry and somewhat embarrassed to say l have never been in those neck of the woods errr...waters....usually way south of hwy 98 bridge. l thought you and First Thought had discussed depth varients in that area in earlier posts...l do know by reputation it is not very deep there or even further out. Which place is yours out thereby the way....l was out there the other day.... was a place on pilings, looks to be about 2600 sqft looking over bay, 2nd last house on the end of the road....looks to be completed by summer....is that you???...Bob

Bob, I am in the Bayou. headed south on the left or East side a point of land with no house on it. I am building in a few years, currently I am permitting for a pier, The Pier will be up in May. ( my lot is between a cut out lagoon with a pier in the middle and one with a seawall it, 2 miles south of entrance)

I will contact First Thought for the water 5 depths.

jeff, are you talking looking right going east over the heron bridge past that fish/swim platform toward the Dog track?
Knot at Work posted 04-06-2004 02:03 PM ET (US)     Profile for Knot at Work  Send Email to Knot at Work
Bob, other direction.

From the bridge Head north to Perdido bay, my lot is on the right side right past a dock/seawall with two chairs on it and a pole. (Lillian Hwy side) My lot has a small canal that opens to a lagoon,... help your self there are bream and bass in it, but watch the Gator Slides. We got a three foot resident that doesn't flinch when I look at him
