Is any one familiar with the Upper Potomac above Hagerstown, MD? I'll be in the Martinsburg, WV area in mid June and I wonder if there is enough water to launch my 16 foot Katama.

Jeff,
The short answer is no. You can take an inner tube or possibly a canoe or flat bottom but the potomac is clasified navigable only as far up river as DC.

I did spend some time in Cumberland MD, and the water is maybe a foot deep but it was clean enough to swim in.

Thanks Kamie,
I suspected as much. I didn't find any definitive answer on websites relating to the surrounding area.

Sorry, my family and I never made it to the Baltimore boat show. Maybe next year.

There is always next year. Although if your free in May you should consider driving down for the Tea Party

I've been following that thread but don't want to jinx myself. Every time I commit to something where I may get a chance to meet CW members, something always comes up. Oh well. One of these days.
