Boston Whaler Owners Event May 13-15, in Stuart,
Florida. Boston Whaler owners, their families and guests are invited to attend a weekend of fun, fishing
and camaraderie. Bring your boat! The event will include free giveaways, photos with a Whaler cut in half,
on-land vendors, entertainment, food, drinks and your choice to participate in a fishing tournament
(inshore and offshore divisions), an on-water scavenger hunt or just hang out and relax.
The event will be held at the area’s local Boston Whaler dealership, Marine Max Stuart, one of the
premier locations on the Intracoastal Waterway in Stuart. It is a fully equipped marine dealership,
including a ship’s store, docks, secure parking for trailers and a private boat ramp. It is located within 2
miles of the Stuart inlet.

See the above website for more.

Okay, who's going and where are you staying? I stayed at the Ramada last year but won't do that again.

Smirkless, why don't you stay at the Monterey Inn right across the street? The guys building the new roof next door should stop driving nails by 10pm...

I wish I could guarantee that I would be back to town on Friday night, because there's a nifty little campground South along the Okeechobee waterway at the ACoE locks which I was intending to stay at before I found out I'd be in Alabama on Wednesday, Thursday, and until an unknown time on Friday... I might still do the campground, depends on my timing with work, wife, and weather.

Joyce and I are going. We long ago sent in our registration and fee.

We have reservations at the Monterey Inn.

Bringing the Temptation.

Hope to be there around 1400 on Friday like last year.

Ace

PS Anybody know yet if Larry and Jim (and respective Admirals) are coming this year? It was great with them there last year!

I was too late to snag a room at the Monteray. Got a room at the Harbor Inn, only one room left. Sounds like the Orlando Parker Boats guys are there again. Look forward to seeing you Joyce & Ace. Janice and Kimberly (Whaler babes) better sharpen those hooks!

I have a room w/slip with 2 beds reserved @ the Monteray Friday and Saturday. I am now possibly having some "organizational" issues and may have to give up my room....Hope Not!!

I'll be there, looking forward to meeting fellow C/Wavers.

Actually, I live across and a little north on the St. Lucie River. Not a long journey.

Hooks are sharp, Yamaha has been tuned, new tires on the trailer, and we are ready to fish! Ward, check with Pat, he said he may not be able to go because of Coastie meeting. You may be able to snag his room. Are you bringing the boys? They are getting so big they hardly qualify for JR. Anglers anymore. Looking forward to seeing everyone, and meeting Jim.
Ace, you know you and Joyce are always welcome if you aren't going to drive all the way home Sunday.
Where2, roofers? I hope they will be done; but atleast they will wake us up early in the morning....:)
Hopefully we will have better weather this year than we have had in the past. I think if they call for wind again, I'll bring the 17 instead of the 13'. And since we haven't heard from Big, I'm assuming he's going to crash. Bring Lori, Biggy! May our waters be calm, our trailers be flawless and our fish plentyful.
See you there!

We will be in Stuart. Probably another day trip but we may try to stay overnight this time. Just got back from Key Largo friday night- towed the Dauntless down for 5 days and had a great time. The week before I was fishing in Marsh Harbour Bahamas for 3 days (freebie on company time) and got my first white marlin-cool. Got new truck tires, new trailer tires, freshly tuned Merc' and no excuses, gonna have fun!

Yep, bringin the kids again. Elliott probably is out of the junior angler bracket but Ethan is still my little Whaler fanatic. Hope you can make it Swell. If not, let me know so I can possibly switch.

Don't forget to sign up with Whaler!

Ironically, Jkcam will probably not have to get in his car to get to the event at all...

I guess I need to launch my 15' Sport this weekend and see that my carb rebuild last weekend cured my problem. Might also be a good time to finish my waxing job... (it's porter cable time!)

Now that the Rage is running nicely, I'll just have to park it back on it's trailer and decide which boat to bring which day...

If I must forfit my room, I will give you enough notice and transfer the room to you, but I am still gunna push, and pry to be there... :)

Sleeping in the caddy sounds like a good plan before the trip home. These trips are a mother to go home from. Bringing my son (and now back-up driver).

This is great! Your sleeping with the goat and I have Lovey the Lamb!! Whats this paradise all about?
where2 posted 05-03-2005 10:28 PM ET (US)     Profile for where2  Send Email to where2
This Paradise is all about visiting the place that has the dubious distinction of having had 2 hurricanes make landfall within 3 weeks of one another, and having a blast before the next hurricane season begins!!

Anyone know where to buy mobile home (screw in) anchors? I need some to tie down the Whalers this hurricane season...

Anyone know if it will be a big deal if I don't make the check-in table on Friday night, or first thing Saturday morning?? I'll be there, it's just a matter of when... Not sure what time I'll get back from Alabama.

The way my luck runs, I'll show up at Marine Max bright and early Sunday morning, with my wife and our two whalers! Unfortunately having missed hanging out with ya'll for a day and a half...

I wasn't planning on fishing, so it's not a matter of making the captain's meeting...

P.s. Both my whalers are looking spiffy...

smirkless posted 05-09-2005 01:09 PM ET (US)     Profile for smirkless  Send Email to smirkless
where2, no problem missing the captain's meeting. Get there ASAP!!

Not going to switch to swellmonster's open room, which is actually better, so it may still be available.

Looks like a respectable CW showing.

What time is everyone getting there and is anyone going to the marine surplus joint in FT Pierce? I heard they have tons of Whaler stuff there including original wood @ $5/lb.

Are there any other hotels close by that don't have slips and may be cheaper than the one next door?

Nick, look on the pdf. file at the top of the page, there are several hotels that are listed. Why not stay at Monteray? Anyway, see you all this weekend!

Thanks

We'll be heading down saturday a.m. and probably just for the day again. If we decide to stay somewhere overnight, will MarineMax allow to leave the boat and trailer at their place?

See everyone soon

We are planning on arriving at the marina about 4-5 pm on Friday. May stop at the Snook-Nook, otherwise hope for a dirrect door to door type trip.
Nick, last year Ramada did not think making the beds or anything eles was included with the room so you may want to make that clear up front! Otherwise was okay.

Only staying friday night so I could care less if they want to clean after I check out:)

Should be there about the same time as Ward.

The first day of the Stuart BW Owner's event was fab. Got to meet a bunch of 'you all' CWave people.

I still think the SC boat should have won the 'farthest away' - just cause I liked the boat.<grin>

Got to see the W with the blue interiour/mahogany inside (same as picture on back of 2005 brochure). Very cool.

We brought the 15' RAGE, had fun...only Rage at the event; I think. Today if it stops raining we may bring the '85 Sport with Mahog. Oh the choices! Husband worked hard on prepping the boat...

Um and for the record... the Lobstah and clam bake at this event was awesome!

signed....

Yes, she's my Maine Lobstah Woman... I couldn't have managed to dismantle that spectacular crustacean had my wife not been there! (Ask WhalerAce)

The rain did let up, and we showed up with the 1985 15' Sport on Sunday, but due to the questionable weather, we decided not to launch it. We got to meet DraftmansWife and her friends. Smirkless walked away with some nice Whaler memorabilia, as did one or more of his sons. (he's got such a beautiful whaler!)

If you missed this event, you certainly missed out. The $25 fee was merely a drop in the bucket as to what it must cost to host an event like that. No gallons of 2-stroke oil in the give-away this year, but I'd trade a gallon of 2-stroke oil for a Maine Lobster dinner any day of the week! Marine Max Stuart, and Whaler outdid every expectation I had based on the comments from those who attended last year, and the comments last year were VERY Positive!

Draftmanswife posted 05-16-2005 03:17 PM ET (US)     Profile for Draftmanswife  Send Email to Draftmanswife
Certainly, a wonderful trip. Great to meet you too Where2!!
Now, for the stat's on "our" crew:

Erin (Al's daughter) took 3rd place in-shore with her very first fish!
Smirk took 2nd place in-shore;
And I took 1st place in-shore.
Smirk's youngest boy took Jr. Angler and Kimberly took Lady Angler in-shore. Smirk of course got yet another beautiful painting for the oldest boat, and I happened to pick up a new 7200 NavMan from Northstar. Wow, now that was exciting. And Jim picked up furthest away with a boat registered in Maine. Another CW member Jimmy, picked up 1st place off-shore with a 40" released sailfish. We sure did have our winners circle at the awards luncheon.
Can't say enough to the Boston Whaler crew and MarineMax for hosting this event. Thanks a mil folks!

Pictures to follow soon,
Janis

Did I win anything Janis:)

Had a great time....was the only person to demo a 130 sport...still wet but what do ya want for 13'. That 320 cuddy was impressive but not $220k impressive. Sorry I had to miss the dinner but duty calls with a puppy at home. Hope to see ya'll at the Sarasota event next week, should be better!

I see myself in 3 different photos by cmarques! Obviously, I need a bigger Whaler, I didn't see my Rage in any of his photos...

I check every few days to see if Whaler posted any 2005 event photos, nothing yet...

I dropped an email to Tracy Davis at Whaler thanking them for an awesome event!

No Nick, you didn't win anything, and my wife ate your Lobstah... (double bummer). However, it was good to meet you and all the other CW members that I did meet.

LightlySalted should have come without a boat as "The Judge" did. The t-shirt, bag of toys, and dinner was more than worth the modest cover charge, and getting to eat dinner with a table full of Whaler owner's is priceless entertainment. (ask WhalerAce)

Chris, Where would you find a bigger whaler that is older than the one you have? If you bought something newer, you'd just have to keep the old one to keep the awards coming at the events! (unless one of us can come up with that legendary hull formerly owned by Dick Fisher or Bob Pierce)
