We have 5 so far bill. So far there seems to be some good interest. We have Mike from Kings Park with a 18' Outrage. Tony from huntington (i think) with an Early 70's 21 outrage. Eric from Mastic Bch NY with a Newport. A few have expressed interest to trailer from the south shore. Have not heard much from the westchester cnty folks. Also, if you have friends from CT you want to cruise with and they have something other than a BWm, they are welcome too!.. Regards, KG |

Kurt, I sent you an email. Do you have an idea of what the get together might be? On the water raft-up or anchors on the beach? It great that you have gotten something going. Karl |

Kurt I've been a real slow poke launching this year but I would love to make the tip to Port Jeff. Could you give me some more details? I have a 21'Walkaround and I'd be cruising via East River. Karl |

We are on!!! Hopefully the weather will cooperate. There are 6 vessels attending so far. At the present time we will be meeting just inside the harbor, on the east side. As I remember it there is a very senic anchorage there and beach nearby to get your toes in the sand. I will be taking a trip out there before the meeting to get the exact numbers, or maybe pick another spot in the harbor. There is really no bad spot in that harbor.Karl, Its is a nice trip from the west as long as we have light winds or south winds. Is thought there was someone coming from westchester or marmaroneck, but I am not sure if they are trailering... Any boaters coming from the West?? Speak up. As for the area, do a google search on Port Jefferson NY and you will find out all about it. Its a great town and wonderful cruising destination. regards, KG |

Mamaroneck here! So, what date did you pick? Hopefully I'll be able to attend... I will not be trailering so if the sound is too snotty, I'll probably take a pass.

I took a scouting trip to the location just inside the jetty and to the east and it is an absolutely beautiful cove. Sandy bottom, and nice beach to explore. We can anchor and raft up or beach it. There is a bluff that you can walk over and gain access to the sound. It will be great for kids. Don't miss it - June 25th Port Jefferson Rendezvous!!! |

Yes, It's called Pirates Cove. The view from atop the 100' sand dune that borders the east side is magnificent. My kids love it there. Across the PJ channel to the west are other coves in Strongs Neck. Great places to explore. You just have to careful of the tides. You can easily be stranded a couple of hours either side of low. I hope you have nice weather- you'll have a great day. |

Well it is supposed to be very nice weather this saturday. If you are coming please reply to this thread, not my email. It seems I have lost my email history and can't tell who is coming. Last time I went to pirates cove, I hooked up with three whalers that were just there to enjoy the water and beach. They said they would attend on the 25th. I also have a buddy coming with his Scout. A few are tentative. Lets make it a party come on yall. Its a nice trip from CT and it will be flat. I will be there about 10:30 am Look for a 22 outrage cuddy |

Kurt, I'm sorry to say its looking no-go for me. I am just launching the boat today and that does not leave me time to shake-down and prepare for an overnight. I'm sorry to miss the event. I know how hard it is to make a rendezvous happen. If anybody in attendance can grab the GPS coordinates, I would like to visit this spot when I can. Maybe we can hook up this summer. Let me know if you ever have a yen to cruise up the Hudson River. I can arrange tie-up, mooring, showers, etc. near the Tappan Zee bridge. Best of luck to all you lucky boaters. Don't forget to take some pictures and post them. Karl |

Hope you all had a great time! Curious as to how it worked out, how many showed, how the location was, etc.?Any feedback or photos? Gimcrack also mentioned the idea of a Hudson River Tappan Zee area get together, any interest (I am)? Steve |
