Is anyone thinking of going to the Boston Whaler Owners Event in Beaufort South Carolina on June 10th and 11th 2005?
These events are always in Florida (obvious reasons) and I have never been able to go. I fully intend to hit this one if it kills me!
I will start making my trailer "road trip' worthy asap.
Come on Eastcoasters, lets all go.

I'd like to make the trip from Wilmington NC to Beaufort SC by water. Leave Thursday morning, arrive Friday night. Have the trailer already down there. Any interest in that?

Good morning! I live in Bluffton, SC and have no knowledge of this event. Where did you find the details? My 15 restore should be complete by then, but have to work on Saturday. I have some space in my yard to store quite a few Whalers about 30 minutes from the event (on the south side of Broad River). Exit 8 off I-95 and about 15 miles east, (toward Hilton Head Island). 7 miles from I-95 (Sun City) there is a Hampton Inn, and on the north side of US 278, a Fairfield Inn. I will be stationed at the Sun City firehouse Sat. morn 8am through Sun. morn 8 am. if this helps anyone. Short ride and plenty of water around.
Will follow for more info. zot.

David, I thought about going the water route, just not sure if my old girl's motor is reliable enough. Will make final desicion nearer the time.
Zotcha, Full details and registration forms etc can be found on the Events page of the Boston Whaler web site.
I guess we will see how many more get interested as it gets closer.
Oh, I guess I now have ANOTHER reason to check the CW site daily.... Like I need any more reasons!

Any idea how many water miles it is from Washington NC to Beaufort SC?

I think that must be getting on up around the 400 mile mark!
I am just guessing as I am at work and do not have charts with me.
Will try to work out closer guesstimates and timing, fuel cost etc. I am ctually looking forward to it, going by what I read about the other events it should be a fun w/end.

I'm planning to take the family down Saturday morning in the Montauk. Will attempt the Charleston to Beaufort run down the ICW, though dispositions of little ones may cause me to deviate.

I am cleaning, planning and saving up my pennies for gas money for this trip.
Is anyone else?
Don't seem to be getting much interest from the Carolina guys and girls, are we all out fishing and enjoying our Whalers?
See you on the water,

Sorry, just be dawdling around.
We would love to travel down with you -- are you planning on going outside (usually pretty fast when goin TO Beaufort), or the longer way via the ICW?
Count us in!

Well it was a real slow day at work today, so I took the boat in and spent the day cleaning her, changing fuel filters etc.
Will 'splash' her Saturday and check everything else. Will also do some kind of a fuel usage workout, as this seems to be a concern of mine.
Unfortunatly my first mate cannot decide if she wants to run with me or drive, or even attend at all?
Looks like I have some serious talking ahead of me...

Now I know what was on that cushion I sat on in WhalerAce's temptation... Gorgeous boat, wet cushion. Hope the dog is doing better after the return trip to SC.
If the event in SC is anything like the one in Stuart (yesterday and today), you ought to be intending to make it to the event if it kills you! My wife is now a firm believer in "making it to a nearby BW Owner's event", and yesterday was only our first event!

I drove past Marine Max Wednesday to visit some brother Jersey Skiffers en route to Marathon from Savannah. Looked like they were setting up for a blast! Wish I could have stuck around, but the APBA Offshore Race was AWESOME.
Planning to attend Friday and Saturday with an early departure (about 3 or so) for a wedding. My yard is still available for staging area (thiry minutes from Downtown Beaufort). I am planning to trailer over because I don't have a plotter/depth sounder on the 15, and have not been there by water yet.
Still have a long way to go before completing refurb. but am almost certain it will fly. Shoot me an e-mail if I can help with anything. zot.

OK You should have all sent your registration forms in by now if you are going to this one.
I stopped by my local 'boat goodies store' at lunch time today and will be replaceing a couple of rollers on the trailer this w/end. Will also be doing some serious motor testing as well.
Long w/end, Grand kids at the house, Graduation ceremonies to attend, big beach party for my Graduatin' Girl and her friends.. should be a really exhusting couple-three days.
See you on Masonboro' Sunday, I'll be the old man in the middle of a gaggle of fifteen or more pretty teenage girls!

Anyone planning to attend? I will only be able to go Friday and have not registered. Not very impressed with hosting dealer but thought I might be able to put some names with some faces. Also, maiden voyage for new four stroke. zot.
