I've been reading from posts here that the boat is safe rough water. I'd like to take my 13' BW out from Half Moon Bay or other Pacific Ocean fishing spots. Are there any who has experience or would like participate as well? I think it'll be a lot safer if a group of us headed out. Anyone interested? The salmon runs this year I heard is phenominal. |

Hey, Louis, I saw your similar post over on the 'Gam' forum. Several CW forum members fish offshore out of Bodega Bay in Whalers of various sizes. It's still early season up here and fishing has been pretty slow...our best months are usually June and July, sometimes early August. I get out on average a couple of times per week and would be glad to fish alongside your boat 'til you get the hang of this place. Drop me an email and we'll work something out. You might think about making it up to the NorCal rendezvous this coming May 20th weekend (more info below in this forum) and you could hook up with some of the other local fisherfolks. Tony |

Hey Tony,
i'm assuming that you don't think a 13'er is too small. it good to hear that from an experienced angler. i've never been to bodega bay so it'll be something different. let me know when you'd like to go. my email is louish67@yahoo.com |

Louis, Several years ago when I owned a 13' whaler, Often went fishing out of Santa Cruz then later Bodega Bay. Like folks here have mentioned, I just picked my days. With the internet weather forecasts and buoy reports, I still don't leave my home unless I have a favorable report. With good weather, radio and someone to boat with, you should have a ball. MattK |

I've put together a couple of webpages that pull a bunch of offshore weather forecasts together in one placee. http://www.garlic.com/~triblet/swell/wamglance.html covers Monterey Bay (inc. Santa Cruz) up to Pigeon Pt. http://www.garlic.com/~triblet/swell/abglance.html
