Joe the last swamp tour was in nov. and it was alittle cool.

I would think if the troplical weather has calmed down Oct. would be best.

Jeff, sounds like fun. We'll try to make this one, since we missed the first swamp tour. Will our Revenge with radar arch fit under any bridges that may be overhead, or should we plan on bringing the 15 Sport?

October sounds best.

Sounds good. We had a great time last time. Mike, I would go with the smaller boat to get more in tune with nature. Jim

Mike no bridges but there are some places that overhead clearance could be a problem because of tree limbs. If the weather is nice the 15 would be beter.

Sounds good. The smaller boat is for sure easier to trailer.

Count me in. I'll have the little one up and running by then.

Sounds like I'll be watching the LSU/Aub game in a little whaler!

In Oct it is hard to pick a day around football. I am not sure who will show what games but we will most likly have the satillite dish at the camp by then.

I think that listening to a game on the radio is sometimes better than tv.

Also better check your rating plate for the max size TV allowed on your whaler.

Those dates work for us but we probably wouldn't arrive until later in the evening on the 21st. What hotels are close by?

Joe

Gautier (pronounced Go-chay) has a Best Western and a Suburban Lodge. There is also Tucei's (pronounced 2-c's) which is a fishing camp/marina w/boat launch and trailer storage that rents "cabins" and overlooks Mary Walker Bayou and the Pascagoula River--depending on availabiity, that would be my choice. I don't know how to post a link, but here's the website: http://myweb.cableone.net/krborries/index.html

I saw a 60" plasma TV in Circuit City the other night that, I think, will span from gunnel to gunnel on the little boat....all I need to do is fabricate a holder that will fit into the oarlock receptacles. Of course, I'll need Mike's help figuring out to run power to it.

No new info , but with all the talk of not being hit by lightning in another thread I didn't like this thread sitting here with 13 replies.

Thanks for the emails and the phone calls. My internet has just come up. Here is one photo during Katrina. We are 23 feet above sea level. We are not next to a large open area of water.

Good to hear y'all are well, Jim! It looks like the swamp tour came to you instead of the other way around.

I went up the river sat. to check the camp. We got 3 inches of water in the camp , that means the storm surge was still about 12 ft.+ 15 miles inland.

We lost 4 pieces of tin off the roof but found all 4 and fixed the roof sunday.

The river was bad over the weekend from all the sewage that has been flowing , but by yesterday it had improved.

If I ever get faster internet I will post more pics.

Knowing that a hurricane will surely follow the Gulf Coast Rendezvous Whaler Club to the next RDVU, I propose we have the next RDVU somewhere with a minimal population or perhaps a lake inland a few hundred miles. What do you guys think. How about Sardis Lake or something? Jim

That's a little bit too far north of I-10 for me.

As for the Miss. Swamp Tour 2 we are thinking early Nov. might be ok. I am still checking the waterways to see what is clear and what is not.

Let me know what ya'll think.

Maybe we (Gulfport) can be of the west side of the next hurricane. You are inviting trouble Jeff.

Otherwise we have cabin fever, so we are a maybe. Barn
