So far we have 3 170 Montauks and a 23 Conquest heading out this Saturday for tuna, weather permitting.

Depending on the reports, we will launch either at Half Moon Bay, Santa Cruz or Monterey. Plan on having enough fuel for a 100 mile run. (I'm carrying 47 gallons at 3.5 mpg is 164 miles)

I'll keep you posted.

I saw a couple of good reports of tuna south of the Cordell Banks. I was thinking of possibly going out of
Bodega Bay on Friday if anyone has any interest there. I wouldn't mind being on your guy's email list for any tuna trips out of Bodega. I drive a 19' Revenge.

Steve:

I hope to get some nice pictures tomorrow. A buddy went out yesterday to Gum Drop (Gum Drop Sea-Mount 37.28 & 123.27) and got 12 tuna, one was a blue fin. All were 25-40 pounds.

I've been reading and hearing good reports on tuna this last week. Things are starting to heat up. I still haven't got my fill of big salmon yet. I'd like to catch the tail end of the Elephant Rock bite.

Just got back from chasing tuna out of Bodega. Did a lot of chasing but no catching for me. There were about half dozen boats out there that caught up to 9 albacore. The numbers were 123.50 and 37.25. 58-59 degree water. 44 miles from port. Though I was disappointed in my fishing catching ability, I was quite pleased with the performance of my recently acquired 19' Revenge w/ Suzuki 140.

My buddy and I got 2 tuna today both weighed about 26 pounds. We went to 37.28 and 123.01 which was only about 30 miles out.
I'm going again next weekend. Tuna fishing is incredible.

Heh... the blood will wash off the boat but not those nice cacky shirts! I guess those tuna bleed like crazy when you get them on board. Looks like you got beat up pretty good from the look of the ocean behind you.

Steve:

The ride out was suppose to be flat. NOT! I almost got seasick on the way out.

Our buddy Ken caught 15 tuna in his boat. I found out later that he went 40 miles out in his 170 Montauk. Then they caught 4 lings and assorted rock fish on the way back to the ramp. His radio died and I couldn't find him once we went offshore.

We're hoping to repeat the fishing expedition this weekend. I'll keep everyone posted.
