Boat should be out of the shop this week. Had tha annuals done along with a lifting eye and water pressure gauge. Brian FINALLY got his Montauk together and should be ready to run. I think Shell key in St Pete/pass-a-grill is a viable option....although beercan is still my favorite:) |

Hi guys! Any idea what weekend that would be? Joyce and I would like to come if it is at least a couple of weeks off. I managed to break/crush a bone in my left leg moving my utility trailer last weekend, so today I was graduated from a hard cast to a boot. Although it is supposed to take four to six months to heal, surely a boat ride wouldn't aggravate things too badly. BTW, Happy New Year! Ace & Joy |

I also vote for beercan. Mainly because I'm too lazy to pull the boat out of the water and trailer it. And again if anyone needs dockspace I live very close to there on the water. |

OK, I've been called to set the date. It's the 25th of February. It's Flag Day, so Pirtates, fly your flags. Maybe McRay's in Homasassa? We can have a fire and cook out there. Maybe we can even talk Al into some more of those great crabs! Pass-a-Grill is also great, but nowhere to tie up by your room. Can we have a fire on Beer can? I'm thinking of something more than just an afternoon by the bridge. How about Holiday Inn at the park? I picked the date, so someone else pick the spot. Now I have something to look forward to after Speedweeks! Thanks crew! Janis |

Ace...15' is plenty, most is no speed zones. The water is fresh for the moat part and you can swim with the manatees in a fresh water spring that is ALWAYS 72 degrees. This would be an overnight trip but before we set a date, we need to contact MacRae's and see what kind of vacancy they have, probably too late for them. |

Ace....quit your damn whining:) Meet me at my place and we'll go from there if you want. Anyone is more than welcome to do so, especially if coming from the south. If Brian comes, we might be able to use the Bradenton Yacht club ramp which is on Snead Island and is basically at the mouth of the manatee river. From there to Shell is about 40-45min ride. From my house would make it 1 hour. The ride accross tampa bay can and usually does get a tad sloppy for anything under 17'. BUT....we can always get to shell the back way which you run next to the skyway bridge and up through the ICW so to speak, takes longer but if she is snotty, the only way to ride. Another words for those who have run from my house to beercan, instead of going left into the ICW, we go right and pass eggmont key. From there it is a 10 minute gulf ride to the 2nd inlet which is Shell key. Should be on the NOAA mapsite. We are going to Shell Key which is RIGHT across the inlet from the FT Desoto boat ramp in St Petersburg(or Ft Desoto). Pass-a-grill is a real town, not a pet name and is where the Don Cesar hotel is at, very nice joint and I highly recommend staying there if $250+/night is not too much to swing:). |

Mike, I have the Mt. Dora Antique Boat Show down for March 24, 25 & 26th. We'll be there again. I was thinking of trying a rendezvous there if anyone is interested. It’s a good time of year for lakes since the windy months are March and April. Okay Wavers, beers on me if you show up by land or sea on Saturday (3/25/06)… but that’s another post. Yes, Ethan and I will be camping. We have a 6-man tent so we have room for maybe two others. Looks like a good way to extend the fun. Anyone else for camping? Smirk |

Nick, Janis, Zotcha (and others going South): Are you driving directly to Tampa or are you going to Nick's first? We want to stay in Bradenton the night before just so we can ride the boat a long way (after all, we ARE dragging it for ten hours, so we might as well use it). Anyhow, maybe we can caravan the last few hours! I guess Nick is going back Saturday night, so is it a tricky route back to Nick's house? Do I need a Chart or will just a few milemarkers do the trick? Or is anyone going back towards Nick's on Sunday, so we can follow? I am still trying to talk Joyce into letting us come. My doctor still does not want me to SOAK the foot that I broke, but I can get it wet. I figured for the beach I can make a pad (like a snowshoe) for my crutches so that I can get along. |

You don't want to make that run at night so I will be leaving by 5pm or so. Ace...if you are camping out, somebody should be able to get you back to my house or I can draw you a map. Are you coming or is it still up in the air? friday night I thought we could do something either at my house or at a local place that has food, etc. Staying at B-Ton or near me would make sense, that way we can caravan to shell on saturday and you can park your boat in my yard friday. Normally I would camp, especially now with a cabin but I have a mardi-gras party on sunday. |

Well we had a great time! Should have taken the offer to stay overnight though, was dead tired when we got home. I just think the people looking down from the Skyway bridge must have been saying "look at those fools!" as Nick and I crossed Tampa Bay in pure slop conditions in my "little" Dauntless 160. We had good food with good friends and saw some nice boats out there. Thanks to the "crew" for a great day. Now hooked on "6 foot itis" thanks Janis............. There will be some pictures up soon. What a beautiful day we had. The seas kicked up, at least for Nick and Chris, they didn't bother me too bad in that sweet new boat I bought! I think Michelle was glad she was on my boat on the way home. She even got to drive! I'll have her backing the trailer and going over the side of the boat before summers end:) Let's do that again real soon, Janis |

Not to repeat others, but what a great day!!!! Humans, dogs, and even Nick had a great time I'm sure. The menu was excellent: wisconsin brats, fresh shrimp, and lobster tails on the grill. Plenty of cold beers. We even had a few new faces (sharkbait, stpetejonesy) As well as a couple of non-continuouswavers that stopped in for a brat and a beer. One of them, Frank, had a very sweet 15' classic. Not to mention, Janis had her new to her 22' Outrage with twins on the back and she even let carzy me drive it. |

Sorry for the delay. The pictures are at: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/aboutmandm/album?.dir=/dfc9&.src=ph Thank you Janis for letting me "hold the baby twins." I had a lot of fun. It was so relaxing with the nice breeze on the beach. |
