| TRAFFICLAWYER |
I'll be attending with my son, not yet sure where to stay as we'll be comming up from Jupiter the Friday before. |
| where2 |
Traffic, Try the Monterey Inn, it's right across the street from Marine Max Stuart. Maybe by summer they'll get all their docks repaired at Monterey Inn... Last time I was across the Palm City Bridge (the bridge between Palm City and Stuart) was several months back, and their western most docks were still a shambles (from Frances)... Alternatively, Find Jkcam, he lives on the water in Stuart. Last year, I trailered my whalers up from North Palm Beach and launched them at the park diagonally across the waterway from Marine Max. That worked out well with the 15_Rage and the 15_Sport. Time to go find that registration sheet they said was online when I bugged them about it at the boat show in Miami. Sounds like you already sent your sheet in... |
| Draftmanswife |
The great people at Marine Max will launch your boat and store your trailer for you over the weekend. There is no trailer parking at Monteray, but what a great place to stay. Have fun, Janis |
| WhalerAce |
Ditto on what Janis said. We have our reservations in already. Had fun there last year as well. |
| TRAFFICLAWYER |
I've made reservations at the Monterey. I'll have our 255 Conquest, live well loaded, hooks sharpened, ready to claim 1st prize in the fishing tournament. Boat is usually in Jupiter May-August in dry storage. |
| cmarques |
We will be there. Now I should make a shirt or something "probably just for the day" ;) Haven't put much thought into staying or day tripping-just love the punishment of 2-3 hour sunburnt drives home in the middle of the night, maybe just less traffic or something. Chris |
| Draftmanswife |
Kimberly and I are booked at the Monteray as well. We have taken trophy's the last 3 years Lawyer, so it's on now:):)...We'll be sporting my new outrage-22. Chris, just make reservations and stay overnight that's when the party really kicks up a notch. Looking forward to seeing everyone again this year. We have a new girl heading up the marketing department, so give her a break, it's pretty hard to fill Terry's place. Take care, Janis |
| TRAFFICLAWYER |
We've already placed the LIVE BAIT order and are'nt sharing any honey holes or numbers with anybody! |
| Draftmanswife |
Kimberly aqnd I were laughing just this afternoon that we are already making all the provisions for this trip and it's yet still 4 months away! lmao... |
| smw |
I'll be in Stuart next weekend at Pirates Cove to celebrate my wedding anniversary with whoelse but my wife. We'll probably not take the Whaler this time but its tempting. If anybody needs anything reconnoitered, just holler. Steve |
| LHG |
I would like to make this one with my old classic 21. What are the dates? |
| The Judge |
Larry...you don't know your way around www.whaler.com ;) |
| jimh |
What are the dates? This should be the first piece of information given in an announcement like this. Little point in talking about something without mentioning where and when! |
| TRAFFICLAWYER |
http://whaler.com/Rec/pdfs/floridaowners/06_Stuart.pdf June 2-4, 2006 |
| WhalerAce |
Larry, Stuart is 2 - 4 June Sarasota is 19 - 21 May -- Can you make that one as well? |
| LHG |
Ace - Stuart may be too late in the season for me. The boat is usually back up north by then. I may try for Sarasota. |
| TRAFFICLAWYER |
Harbor Inn rates are from $55.00. 772.692.1200 |
| Al_A_Buy |
Team - Looks like the the WhalerGirlz and I are in. Have a room at the inn and looking forward to seeing everybody... Al W. |
| The Judge |
I am trying to figure out if I am taking the 19' up there by water or not. If I do I will be staying on that friday and probably the Harbor inn on saturday with the wife. Not sure if I can afford the fuel from the west to the east coast or trailer there....decisions, decisions:) Maybe we'll take Brian's 17' instead...again Decisions, decisions. No matter what I bring(or don't) I WILL be there. This is not an event to miss. |
| TRAFFICLAWYER |
Gettin closer, How about Roll call?? |
| The Judge |
It is 2 1/2 months away, do a roll call at about a week or so away. |
| Swellmonster |
This is a great event! I wannna make it!! Lil iffy but my heart is in it.... |
| where2 |
Where2 will be there with the wife (Lobstah Woman), if she does her homework (grad school). Hmmm, which Whaler to bring which day? |
| Draftmanswife |
Spoiled American girls and boys,... |
| The Judge |
Now that there is light at the end of the restoration tunnel, looks like I might drive the Revenge through Lake Okee and spend the night on it. I should make reservations for saturday night though. Don't think I want to sweat to death 2 nights in a row. |
| where2 |
We'll like you better at the lunch table on Sunday if you had a shower Saturday night Nick. Thanks for looking out for us... :) What do you usually mount these 3'x5' Whaler flags on?? I skipped the burgee and went for the Big Flag... |
| The Judge |
Make sure that flag is not hot before bringing it to a rendezvous sponsored by Whaler. Few years ago somebody stole a couple of their flags at the Sarasota event and they were not very happy. I think they returned them though. Anyway I hang my burgee from the light mast or a flag staff in the rod holder. I do have a vinyl banner that I have hung from a pole in my rod holder but not underway. |
| where2 |
Shall I bring a copy of the canceled check? I obtained my flags by making an inquiry with the factory reps at Stuart last year and sending Boston Whaler a check to pay for the two I own. I am surprised they do not offer them for sale with the shirts/hats/jackets that they bring to the events. For $32/each, you can own one legally. I can believe they have problems with people stealing them, I vaguely recall hearing something to that effect. I have some concern about leaving mine unattended for fear it will wander off with a pirate... Remind me to declare my flag with the agent at check-in to avoid the suspicion of having stolen it... :) |
| The Judge |
Remind you? The bounty for a returned flag is $300 each, I'm gonna snitch ;) Just kidding....I doubt you will need to fly one though, we all know what kind of boat you have. |
| fno |
I dont' think they were stolen by common thieves. Pirates made off with them in response to the scarcity of wenches and maidens to pilliage and plunder |
| The Judge |
Hey be carefull with the wench word there Frank...Sandy, Laurie, Janis and Kimberly were all there....and Pat ;) |
| Draftmanswife |
Pilliage? Frank...lol.>^..^< .. Nothing disappeared last year at Stuart, so I think he was just at Sarrasota. |
| The Judge |
How do you know it was a "he"? Might have been a wench. |
| Draftmanswife |
LMAO...could've been... |
| The Judge |
Sent in my registration for me and the wife. Will be coming through Lake Okee on Friday. Trying to get a room for Saturday. Monterey wants $110, trying for something a tad cheaper but still close. Last year I got the Ramada for like $59. |
| where2 |
Nick, I can bring you a tent for the campground at the St. Lucie Locks. Last time I camped there it was under $15/night. Clean showers... |
| The Judge |
I camped once on a Kice Island rendezvous....never again but thanks anyway. |
| The Judge |
Staying at the Harbor Inn...$75 waterview, not bad. |
| where2 |
That's cheaper than my room at the Hyatt for Sarasota... |
| cmarques |
Well we'll be there Friday afternoon. Staying at the Ramada Friday and Saturday nights and leaving the boat and trailer at Marine Max. The Ramada is a little proud this year at $104 a night but this late all is booked up unless you want to stay in Fort Pierce! See you all in 2 weeks. I'll probably fish the inshore but may head out if the weather is good. Chris |
| The Judge |
Still trying to figure out how I am getting the boat to Stuart. I REALLY want to drive it across the pond but getting the trailer there is my dilema. My wife is bringing the truck but I don't trust her towing a trailer for 3 hours, she does not have a lot of time towing(maybe 10 miles) under her belt. Anyone coming from the west coast that wants to tow a trailer for me? |
| The Judge |
They have changed the schedule for the rendezvous(for the better in my opinion). Friday:capt meeting, food, prizes, beer, etc.(no change). Saturday: Fishing Tournament, scavenger hunt, boat rides, dinner, prizes, awards ceremony. You fish until 5pm and scale closes at 6pm. Sunday: breakfast and boat rides..no fishing or lunch, etc. Deal is over by noon. This is good for those who have long trips home, etc. It also gives you a whole day to take test rides. I like the new program, usually too hung over to fish on sunday anyway :) |
| george nagy |
I'm considering taking a break and coming up one of the days, not sure saturday or sunday. The 19' WON'T be ready so will probably leave the 18' and home and come see the new ones on display. LHG I wanted to get a chance to see the 21 this season are you going to attend afterall? |
| Draftmanswife |
After careful consideration, Kimberly and I have chosen to take the 13 instead of the 22. It's so easy to tote the smaller boat, plus, Bahamas trip is the following weekend. Nice to have an extra hour fishing on saturday, it's for the better if you ask me too. So, I think after the holiday, it's time for a role call. It's getting close, and we are starting to get excited. Janis |
| where2 |
I'm currently 7500 feet from the event site (at work), and anxiously awaiting it. Thanks for the heads up on the revised schedule. What time is breakfast? I'm going to be hungry after I drive 30 miles to get to breakfast! |
| TRAFFICLAWYER |
I'm in! |
| WhalerAce |
I'll be in San Antonio next week. Flying into Charleston Thursday night, hooking up the boat and heading down to Stuart. Gonna be a long day, but looking forward to seeing everyone. We did not have a great showing of ContinuousWavers in Sarasota, so I hope the usual suspects show up here. Ya know, we REALLY need to push this Nationwide Rendezvous thing again -- maybe once we get a burgee to "unveil"? Can't wait! --Ace |
| where2 |
I've got a 3'x5' Burgee, red with a big white "Boston Whaler" logo on it... I think Nick has discovered flying one of these will bring any CW members from a 200 mile radius. It's big enough even those saying their "eyesight is not what it once was" can see it from 1/2 mile away! Now if we could get our DSC equipped chart plotters to recognize other CW members and plot them on screen with their screen name. |
| The Judge |
Where2...That is why I am starting a club. Not only will EVERY whaler I see be a CW member but also a GCBWOA :) I am in of course...again staying at the Harbor Inn on Saturday...19' Revenge on Friday. I will be towing her over Friday. I went on a 4 hour ride yesterday and said ..NO FRIGGIN WAY AM I DRIVING THIS THING 10 FRIGGIN HOURS ACROSS THE FRIGGIN STATE! Aint enough beer-Period! Anyone else coming across RT 70? Caravan? Like ACE said, Sarasota was a bust for us CW members, let's show Stuart what we got. Sarasota had a good turn out, just not with people we know. Now we know a couple more though. |
| where2 |
Nick, I really wanted to hear what it was like running the Caloosahatchee - Lake Okeechobee - (C-44) Okeechobee Waterway in the Whaler. However, it sounds as if you'll be in a much more agreeable mood on Friday night if the Whaler comes by trailer. |
| mrs meatball |
CMarques and I will be there with our new 'baby' - and no, we didn't buy another boat : ) |
| cmarques |
Nick-tell us how you really feel! You can always make the trip in my Dauntless if you want. See you Friday. Chris |
| The Judge |
Maybe when it gets a little cooler...like in November. |
| smirkless |
Gunna be there! Friday thru Sunday. Staying at the Harbor Inn again. No time to prepare but what the heck. See averyone there, Smirk. |
| WhalerAce |
Hey, Wait until you get a look at the Rendezvous Shirts. Don't want to give it away, but the Grafton family will want a lot of them. In San Antonio now, leaving Thursday to start to Stuart. (Maybe I can will the "most-distance-traveled" award this time! It is 1285 miles. See y'all soon
|
| Al_A_Buy |
Team - Erin and I'll be pulling in on Friday and staying at the Monterey till Sunday. Looking forwared to seeing all of you again... AL |
| The Judge |
Does the Harbor Inn have slips or does everyone just keep their boats @ Marine Max for safety? |
| smirkless |
Last year the Harbor Inn said they had no slips left so we just kept it at M-Max. No idea about this year. Smirk |
| cmarques |
Nick Call Marine Max in the morning and arrange to leave the boat and trailer there. I'm leaving both and staying at the Ramada. Last year, we got there and they unhooked the trailer and launched with their tractor and parked the trailer in a locked area then reloaded later that day. (their ramp is steep so let them back you down to launch) See you tomorrow, or later today it's 12:43am already! Chris |
| The Judge |
Heading out soon, should be there about 8pm. |
| an86carrera |
sittin down at the dock wishing we went to Stuart...have fun you all Len & Margit |

This was a great event. Lots of fun and food, lobster for everyone. Great weather, nice folks, and many Whaler goodies. |
| Draftmanswife |
What a great event and the weather held out for all of us to have a great time. Now if I can just figure out how to post the pictures, I'll be in good shape. Food, fun and fish. Good to see everyone again, Janis |

Lobstah Woman and I had plenty of fun without fishing. Dinner was especially entertaining... (just ask Ace or Chris). As much as I would have liked to see LHG, it was nice to see Ace pickup the "most distance traveled" this year. The new CP180i (Standard Horizon Chart Plotter) is an awesome addition to the 15_Sport. Running around Stuart, I was able to keep the boat right where I wanted to be, Right there in the channel. I guess I need to go visit Whaler Wear and pick up a few things I didn't win in the raffle... Awesome to see everyone, looking foward to next year already. |

You know, this stuff lined up when I entered it on the Edit page. Great time. As usual, the Marine Max folks went way beyond the call of duty in playing host for the event. Friendly people, and they remebered us from previous years. Just a great group of people! Thank you all at Marine Max Robert Moore again brought us samples of Mercury oil, which seems to do just fine in my Yamaha. Thank you, Robert, for this. Tito from NAVMAN brought a fully decked out Whaler console with every conceivable NAVMAN product to try out and evaluate. Will Rogers, Karin Scott, and Lenny (never got his last name) brought the new 190 Montauk (I don't think I saw the 20 Dauntless) for us to test drive. Because the St Lucie river was so long, there was a variety of conditions to evaluate the Montauk. I gotta say, if they could just decide how much to charge for this boat (rumor is between $20K & $40K), this is definitely a boat to consider. I think it will make the fisherman happy as well as the family man who takes his family picnicing and water skiing. I also ran along side the new Montauk while it was being demo'd with someone else. This boat rides a lot more level than the more "V"d hulls. I really like this boat.
Let me see if I can remember all of us that showed up: Nick and Laurie . . . and there were more, but by then I had discovered the Yellowtail wine in the cooler boat, and imbibed more than my normal amount, and was not seeing too clearly.
Thanks, --WhalerAce |

Once again, Boston Whaler and Marine Max put on a great event! The weather was perfect as many of the small Whalers were able to venture far offshore to drown some baits. We ran about 20 miles or so and the winner in the offshore tournament did it in 15 Sport in over 500 feet of water! Dinner was great and we got to watch Lobstah Woman give us all a lesson in dismantling lobster. As Ace said, plenty of CW members were there and even got mentioned by Will Rogers at friday's get together (the 190 Montauk pictures shown here are the ONLY ones in circulation per BW) We got to ride in the new Montauk sunday morning and it is a very nice riding boat that I think should sell very well although with 4 of us aboard, 2 had to move forward of the console to get on plane with the 115. Those of you that got to meet Brentley on his first "big" outing with us will know he was very excited and had a great time. Thanks all for making him feel welcome and once the adoption is final in a few months he'll be one of the family. Chris |
| The Judge |
Damn dog ate my camaera so none of my pics came out. I do however have some video. Got there late on friday but still managed to squeeze in a few free beers. Saturday was beautifull even though a tad on the humid side. Will & Karin did a fantastic job as usual along with the Marine-max crew. I asked where our Hotel was and the guy gave me a mapquest to it about 10 minutes later...sweet! The 190 was there again but not the 20 Dauntless. They also had a dark blue 320 outrage which was a nice change from the pastel colors they usually use. The new 150 montauk is about equiv. in size to the 16' 7" classics we so much love, I think it is a nice rig and hauls pretty good with a 60 on it. $19k After 5 lobsters for dinner and a photo shoot with Louie who made the journey back west with us, the night was cut short from Triptephen(sp?). For those who do not attend this show...GOOD...more lobster and free beer for me! See ya next year. |
| where2 |
A few more trips to Stuart, a few more lobster dinners and we'll teach you my Lobstah Woman's real name. :) (Kim) However, I give Ace plenty of credit since he remembered three times as many names as I could have, and I wasn't drinking anything but Sprite?? I find it humorus that Ace is trying to convince the rest of the owners to attend Stuart, which may tank his chances of picking up the "furthest traveled" award in years to come? I think there were still some beers left in the cooler on Sunday after Nick left, so we could probably take in a few more friends next year. Brentley is already part of the family, it was quite evident on Saturday. We shall keep you in our prayers that the paperwork continues smoothly. |
| The Judge |
Next year I am bringing my NEW BABY....9' Squall! |
| cmarques |
Well here's the pictures finally! Once again had a great time! Around picture #67 or so is the full CW crew that was there saturday night. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/aboutmandm/album?.dir=9f9are2&.src=ph Enjoy Chris |
