Got the Nantucket out and in the water on the Connecticut River Thursday and Friday. The temp got into the upper 60s so had to get the boat out on the river. Water temp on river was 42 but warm wind kept us ok. Good ol Honda started right up in seconds. Too bad nobody lives nearby so we could have had a rendezvous. Got lots of river here, 20 miles of it.

I am in Old Lyme and have a 16 Dauntless. I usually launch out of the Black Hall at the mouth of the CT river.

Where do you launch and usually go?

Scott I am all the way up in Vermont, just North of Brattleboro. One trip I want to take is to go from Hartford South to LI Sound. Have you done it? I spend lots of time trailering.

Yes,

I have launched in Wethersfield at Wethersfield Cove. It is a very nice trip with plenty to see. I haven't done it in years, but I frequently go from LI Sound up to Chester.

My house overlooks the river, and my big boat is in Essex where I frequently put in a Whaler. I put many, many hours on the lower CT river each year. There is a real nice boat launch at the Charter Oak Landing in Hartford if you wanted to put in there and travel south to Old Saybrook, where there's an even better ramp. The river is well marked between the Sound and Hartford - lots of floating debris in the river this time of year. Also the Shad fishermen are out this time of year - saw one last night doing a float in Haddam, where I reside.

I'd love to trailer mine up north to see that part of the CT river sometime.
