How about it, NorCal Whalers? Nothing elaborate; just a bunch of us getting together for a try at salmon out of Bodega Bay the first week in May. As many of you know, the early season salmon often lurk outside, and we haven't been able to fish for them this month, but the Federal waters, outside of three miles, open up for Chinook on May 1st this year, and if the weather is nice (big if!), we might end up having a lot of fun fishing together. Just a one day deal, with no real planning...we pick a day and all show up around the same time. Anyone interested?

Great idea, maybe we can use those whaler boats closer to Bodega, see how many boats we'll get and then for us here 2-3 hours away can just hop along for the fun.
Then if ever we'll fish on this side, you guys can just hop along too.
Instead of one day, plan it as one weekend, starts on a Saturday and leave Sunday if they need to. Trailering a boat 2-3 hours away can be a pain especially on a Sunday traffic heading home.
Your idea is good though.... also let's try to plan also on the Labor Day weekend.
