Folks--

Any takers on a Sunapee Gathering sometime in mid to late June?

I am shooting down in the Boston area before that and have time starting in mid June to lead a Gathering.

Let me know as soon as you all can.

Best,

Brant Fagan

For those who have not yet discovered Lake Sunapee, NH, the lake is a beautiful place some 1100' above MSL with nice, clear Class A quality water over ten miles long, by three miles wide and just over 150' in depth.

Based on my rapidly filling summer film shooting schedule, I may have to re-think the June thing and slide into July.

Thoughts? Better ideas?

July would work out better for us, except the weekend of the July 15th & 16th. We'll look forward to bringing our Montauk over from Laconia for the day.

LMF,

I will be at Laconia June 10-16, email me if you want to hook up.

I too would be interested in a July date. Something after the Seacoast and Lake Winn trips.

Bob D - Maybe I could meet up with you?

July would also work out good for us. Since I worked on Marine Patrol many years ago I haven't been on Sunapee for many moons. It will be interessting to see the changes.

All -

With the Piscat trip cancelled in May and the June date almost a wash out (no pun intended) I offer these dates:

1st choice - Saturday, July 8
2nd choice - Sunday, July 9
3rd choice - Saturday July 15

All the above listed dates are good for me.

Let's hear from those interested.

I vote for Saturday, July 15 as the other dates are now a conflict for me.

Any takers?

Please advise soonest.

Before I say "yes":

Where on the lake are we going to meet?

Vin - where are you going to put in?

Vin - How far is the lake from Portland? What route would you suggest I take.

Will check the calendar again.

Thanks

Gents--

I hate to do this but I just booked a commercial shoot out in Ithaca, NY for Thursday and Friday right before our planned BW Gathering.

I would like to throw out the idea that we push back one week to Saturday, July 22 for the Sunapee Gathering.

This type of thing always happens when I plan events around my shooting schedule.

Does this help anyone out?

Phil - I think your best bet would be to take Rte 25 West out of Portland and go to the end of it in Meredith, NH. At the junctiion of Rte 3 turn left and go about one mile to Rte 104. Then take Rte 104 West to until it ends at Rte 4 in Danbury. You will be going through Meredith, New Hampton and Bristol, NH. Turn left onto Rte 4 until you come to Rte 11 in Wilmot Flat. Take Rte 11 West to Sunapee. In Sunapee turn left in town and go to the ramp in Sunapee Harbor. Those of us who trailer, I guess, will be putting in at Sunapee Harbor. It will take you 3/4 of an hour +/- longer than going to Winnepesaukee. Actually those roads are in pretty good shape.

Firebrand - we should be able to make the new date.

I am still moving forward with a planned Gathering for Saturday, July 22.

I can be reached at home at 603-826-3445 if anyone has questions about the Lake, access, or other local information.

Looking forward to visiting and Whalering!

Sorry, we will not be able to make it. I am off to Boston tomorrow (7/19) for cataract surgery. Have a great time. Stay cool.

Firebrand - Why don't we have a roll call and see if it is worth your while to host this event and set a meeting time. We should be able to make a decision by Thursday night. I was going to pull the boat out of Winnisquam Friday evening and come over on Saturday.

Whatever makes the masses happy!

I can work this into my schedule at (almost) any time during the week or on a weekend.

Most likely, I can make most anything work.

I can tell you all that August 5, 2006, I have a meeting that runs until noon but am free after that.

Otherwise, let it rip!

Given the lack of interest and the really long day trip, I am going to decline.

While I want to see the lake, it would be great to see alot of people. On the Piscat trip I anticipated 8+ boats but only 2 attended.

Nothing against you Brant (or Vin)

It's a good thing we didn't have the rendezvous today. We had 3.15 inches of rain at my home in Tilton, NH. We would have been testing the unsinkability of our Whalers!

Weekends are better for me, but if I have enough advance notice I can make it during the week. I start a big job the end of August and won't be available after that.

I see that everyones' summer was as hectic as mine.

Anyone up for a Leaf Peeper Cruise?

I am around but my October has some bookings already.

Let's prove we can make this happen.

I would like to see it happen. I still have some goodies from our friends down in Edgewater to hand out.

Well I have used all of my vacation time, so I am out! I do want to see a good showing from the NE group however. Next May-Junish York Harbor Marine Service is planning on having an event where they invite anyone that has bought a Whaler from them, plus our entire ContinuousWave community. So get the interest started!

I have some hard blackout dates for me in October now. I an NOT available from October 7 -- October 14. Will be down in PA for a Steadicam Workshop out in Chester Springs.

Let's hear from our New England Whaler folks! Let's enjoy it before the hard water season sets in.

Best,

Brant
