I was traveling up north this weekend and saw a Billboard for the "Tall Ships", they are going to be in port at Bay City, Michigan the week of July 26, 2006....might be fun to have a rendezvous and view some of the Tall Ships from the water....anyone interested ?

Do it. I attended one here in Seattle a few years ago when I had my 17 Montauk. Great experience, those boats are something to see.

We'll be on our way up North anyway on the Friday, the 21st, Whaler in tow. Perhaps a side trip is in order.

I saw the Tall Ships here a couple years ago and it was really cool. You can walk from ship to ship and get in most of them.

Finding a place to park the Whaler may be a little tough, since downtown Bay City will be JAMMED with boats and people. Liberty Harbor will be packed and only has a few transient slips. Sometimes they will let you pay a couple bucks and leave you boat there for a few hours.

That part of Bay City is really nice with lots of restaurants downtown very accessible.

Brennan Marine will probably have plenty of room, but they are a couple miles upriver so a vehicle, or at least a bike, would be necessary to get downtown.

This is in my backyard so if you have any questions let me know
