It's February already and the New Englnd boat show is just two weeks away.

This show is located in Boston,MA and it will be at their brand new 516,000 square foot convention center.

With over 1000 boats on display don't miss Boston Whaler with their 20 boats at the show.

This will be a good time for comparing Boston Whaler, who in my eye's are, second to none.

Grady White and Edgewater both are going to have over 14 models on display also.

This is how I beat the Winterized Blues õ¿õ

I just hope there will be a good supply of Bayliners there. Now there's a boat for ya...

I was there on Saturday and for what we were looking for it was actually a decent show. The hall it was held in was an imporovement over the Bayside Expo center wher it was for years before, and all of the usual manufacturers were there. However I was most interested to see some Edgewater boats which I could not find anywhere.
Of course walking through any show is no substitute for boating, but it was a nice diversion from winter...

I was at the Boston show on Sunday, and as aja noted the venue is much improved from the Bayside hall. On the other hand, it looked to me like there were fewer displays by electronics and "peripheral" maufacturers, and much more emphasis on the 35+ footers. Good for some, I suppose, but not for most of us.

A good Boston Whaler display by Russo and Nauset Marine, a couple of the bigger Whaler dealers in the Northeast. They had a nice selection of Whalers on the floor, probably 12-15 boats up to the 305 Conquest. Again, the sales folks were more interested in talking to golfing buddies than in driving sales, but that seems to be the norm around here for some strange reason.

Nice Edgewater and GW displays as well; pretty impressive boats.

I spent the whole week at the show working the Hydra Sports booth. We sold over 30 boats, and rumor has it that so did the Whaler and the GW booths. Talk about mixed feelings, I spent a lot of time comparing Hydra Sports to Whalers. :)

I thought the show was pretty good. I was most blown away by the EverGlades line, again. That new 35 footer has stuff nobody else is even copying yet, never mind hadn't thought of yet. The price tag was a knockover too...

My dad said the roof was leaking in the new Convention Center. I could not miss the irony considering how close it is to the Big Dig harbor tunnel!

That's the truth. I was standing in an isle waiting for a friend and felt a mist on my face. At first I thought it was an attempt at realism at a boat show :-), but then looked up and there was a plastic sheet strung along part of the ceiling with a drain tube running down a lally column to a bucket. BTW, the BCEC isn't all THAT new, but they've just started to allow commercial exhibitions to use the facility. Apparently it was financed with public money and that caused some issues.
