Are there any plans in the making for a spring or summer rendezvous on the MS coast.

I will help plan if there is interest.

Thanks 2 Many. I hope there are going to enough folks that have recovered from Katrina and are interested. It would be good to see everybody again and see how they are doing now. I pulled the Dauntless down there twice last Oct. and Nov. and it looked as though the channels had been cleared of debris.

If the event does not fall on a racing weekend, as it has in years past, I will run over from New Orleans.

We have quiet a few weekends over the next few months that are taken but it does look like we are free the first weekend in April(7th and 8th), the last weekend in April ( 28th-29th), the first 2 weekends in May and after that it is late June before we are free. We could end up with more tours on some of the free days but for now we do have a few days to chose from.

So, early May?
Mike Brantley posted 03-16-2007 02:11 PM ET (US)     Profile for Mike Brantley  Send Email to Mike Brantley
Sounds like good timing to us -- no hurricanes in May! Count on us to come over from Mobile.

Early May works for us too.

This is soccer season for the kids, but set the date and we'll try. May & June are better for us.

May 5th or May 12th?

As for location , I'm not sure of ramps open in Biloxi or Gulfport. I guess where we start depends on where we want to go. If we launch in Gautier we have the option of the river if the wind is up or the east end Horn Island if we want to go offshore.

If anybody is coming for two days I don't think all the motels are still full.

Let's pin the date down first.

Either date is good for me.

May 5th would probably be better for us since Mother's Day is on the 13th. I like your idea of launching in Gautier so that we'd have a backup plan if weather didn't permit going to Horn. We would like to do 1.5 days since I would have to be heading back to Jackson no later than 4:00 Sunday. It would be great if we could all get together Friday night for dinner.

We vote for May 5, too, mainly because of Mother's Day. Dinner on Friday sounds great, though I suspect this time we would just run over there and back on Friday night without the boat, then bring the boat early Saturday. Last time we parked the boat in a wet slip at the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor and staled at a now-demolished hotel across the street, but we have no idea about the state of such facilities.

Gautier sounds like a good launching point for Saturday. Where to meet and eat on Friday?

May 5th sounds like the day.

We have one water front resterant in Gautier, Hucks. I may can arrange for a place to dock some boats both wet and dry at one of the Marinas on Mary Walker Bayou.

It looks like we're not going to make it this time after all. Sorry to have come to that conclusion so close to the appointed weekend. We will be there next time!

I'm in assembly phase on the 22 Outrage. Fiberglass work is done, motor is here and ready, bracket arrives tomorrow.
I don't think I can get away with the thought of getting this one wet in the next month.
Thanks Mike

Lets try again later in the year.

We were the only ones but had such a great day at Horn Island Sat. that we went again Sun. The water was clear and about 80 degrees.
