Earthrace's Planet Awareness

The race around the World is almost on. "Earthrace", a futuristic concept powerboat from New Zeland will attempt to circumnavigate the world in less than 75 days in order to break today's World Record. Not only that but will try to do it by running it's engines exclusively with biodiesel. The main purpose behind this event is to show the WORLD that there are cleaner and better fuel alternatives that can help improove the actual downhill conditions of our polluted Planet Earth.
After a year of prep works and fund rasings, the intrepids will begin their challange this next week at the Island of Barbados and hopefully this crew of three (Anthony, the only northamercan from California) will return before the time to beat. Great cause and I wish them well! Visit their website to see their videos of experiences throughout this process. Their is a particular footage where they run into a nicaraguan vessel full of armed men and for their sake they turn out to be from the contry's naval forces... Check it out.
The last stop before this historical event is in my island of Puerto Rico where I got to meet them. I'll say they are genuine and real people bringing awareness for a real and serious cause that is affecting each and everyone of us.
[Link to another discussion being conducted on other websited removed. For the last 14 years CONTINUOUSWAVE has had a policy of providing information content and moderated discussions, and not collecting lists of links to other website providing moderated discussions. This policy continues. I believe the success of CONTINUOUSWAVE is due to its information content and not because it attempts to provide an index to resources elsewhere. I am glad to provide a link to the Earthrace website for those interested, however I do not see much point in providing links to other discussions of this vessel on other website. If you need help in hosting photographs you have taken of this vessel, please contact me via email-jimh.]

Bio-Diesel is a little generic, are we talking B-100, or a blend?
I do not have a dog in this bio/ethonal fight. I will sell to the consumer what ever the demand is greatest for be it conventional gasoline or 5.7%, 8%, or 10% ethanol. Or be it Ultra low Diesel or B-5, B-10, B-20 or B-100 Bio-Diesel or hydrogen for the fuel cell, I do not care.
Goverment mandates of what I can sell are going to disrupt the supply chain and has anyone noticed what the price of corn has done? Milk and poultry are going to get more expensive.
Wow, sorry, off the soap box now, I wish them luck on the race and it is a cool looking watercraft. John

This boat was docked in New Orleans a few months ago. It was spitting distance from "Over the LINE", my 35' sailboat. It is wild. It looked as if it had hit something with all three bows. It had hot, fast and cheap sheet metal patches keeping the water out.
It was docked along side and looked as if you needed a dingy to get to the dock.

The EARTHRACE website is quite interesting. Thanks for the link to it.
I found many pictures and videos of the boat.
