I am going to be traveling to the Surf City - Topsail area over Easter. What would make me want to trail my Nauset down to that area? Are there any marinas open yet? Ramps available? Fishing? Restaurants on the water?

Any NC Rendezvous that weekend?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't speak for the guys down at Topsail but up around the Oregon Inlet area it is beautiful. Supposed to be 80 today with no wind. The scenery, fishing and people are great. Marinas stay open all year. The Marine Fisheries has many free boat launches.

You are a bit north of me, I am between Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach. Lots of good fishing around the back side of Topsail in the marshes. If you ride south a bit on the ICW, there are several restaurants at the drawbridge at Wrightsville Beach. If you want a longer trip, you can head on thru Wrightsville to the south, take Snow's cut into the Cape Fear River. If you head upstream, it is about 15 miles to downtown Wilmington, lots of waterfront restaruants and shopping. If you head downstream, about 15 miles to Southport, a quaint old fishing village with waterfront restaurants, my favorite being the Provision Company. You will need a chart if you are not familiar with the area, the river can get a little confusing with its various channels. Feel free to contact me if you have any specific questions.
