Mullet Lake - Memorial Day

I will be in the Mullet Lake area over the Memorial Day Weekend. Staying at Aloha State Park on the East side of the lake, boat will likely live on the trailer for the weekend, depending on where they put me in terms of campsites.
Let me know if you're going to be in the area and want to get together for a cruise, or just a gam.

Regardless of where your site is, you can leave your whaler in the boat basin. Unless they stick you way far to the north ens of camp.

Thanks Dave -
I'd be worried about my electronics and fishing gear if I left her in the basin unless I had a tent/campsite right next to the boat...which I was able to get a few years ago...looks like I don't have that luxury this year, so I'll probably keep her on the trailer for overnights...she can be right at my tent site then.
Do you boat around there?

Dave, here is the latest on the Alanson lock.
Take more money if you go there and don't dilly dally underneath the big heavy parts. ;-)

Dave, Home is three miles from Aloha but am going to island on the 23rd. Maybe your visit to Les Cheneaux later this summer will allow time to meet up and visit.Be safe and enjoy(even our gas prices).

Thanks. I think I have you beat for local gas prices...$3.78 at the Shell station near the highway yesterday afternoon.
Even so, I think I'll tank full fuel up there, and should not need to purchase gas for the boat.
Con - thanks for the heads up on the Alanson lock. Looks like Crooked Lake is off-limits this year...I don't relish the thought of being stuck over there with no working lock....perhaps they'd "break it" in the open position so that boats could still traverse it....seems like a risky thing though.
I need someone with DSC enabled on their radio to show up so I can play with that feature.
Long-range weather forecast isn't looking super exciting as far as warm temps go. Looks like the portable heater will have to be packed as well.

My campsite is one row off the boat basin, if you cover your boat @ night, I don't think you'd have a Problem. Putting it on the rug each night is a pain!

Did you bring your boat? I must have been in the boat basin 8 times over the weekend and did not see you.
I ended up not camping and opted for a warm bed and great northern hospitality on the other side of the lake.
Great weekend (no daytime rain) and great sunshine. It was really difficult to head home yesterday afternoon.
Sorry we didn't connect.
