Crunch time, we are 3 days out. The weather looks just OK, I am glad we did not do it last weekend. Do we have any idea of how many of us there will be? I was contemplating bringing some steamers and have no idea of how many to dig. John

There will be 2 of us. We will attempt to bring enough spicy potato salad for everyone, providing we can find containers that will not melt to put it in. What? No cheese whiz?

2....Kemp & Georgia Lindsey. I'm planning to go to Costco and get a couple of those big chocolate cakes. Gotta cover all the food groups.

I plan to be there for a while. I'll launch in the morning at Snee-Oosh beach east of Hope Island, and be there for the afternoon. Then hual out in the evening.

Well, it looks like we'll all be there. There's me in my 13' with my girlfriend, and Kevin in his 15' with his wife.

We're camping Friday and Saturday night in the campground.

My son and I will attend. Tom Clark and I will run the boats up from Shilshole. If the wind is down in the AM we plan to run the westside of Whidbey and in through Deception. We should be there before noon. Any other takers???

John

PS I love steamers!!!

The South guest dock in LaConner is reserved for a "boat show, but the North dock is about empty. If the rain stops later I,m going down to Cornet Bay and tie up on an outer float for the night.

Due to circumstances beyond my controll, there will be no steamers. Looks like it is back to cheez-whiz. I plan on leaving Twin Bridges about 9:00am tomorrow. John

We will be driving up tonight. For those that are considering the outside, take note that there is an SCA on the eastern straights today with winds as high as 30 knots. Nothing your boats can't handle, but I wouldn't be so sure about the women and children. Should die down by then anyway.

I'll look up more weather details and post them here.

Well, I'm here in the campground right now. Aren't air cards great?

It's overcast, but currently dry. The forecast is for "few showers", but I'm remaining hopeful. A look at the radar map, however, shows that the worst of the rain should pass to the north of us.

I took a walk down to the beach and it's beautiful. Definitely a grey day, but good visibility. No obvious rain showers coming down the straight. I could see Smith Island, which is about 9 miles out, so visibility is at least 10 miles.

This has got to be the nicest state park I've ever had the pleasure of camping in. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone around noon or whenever you show. I'd have the boat in the water already, but the rest of the crew is still sleeping.
