With July just around the corner, I wanted to go ahead and get this discussion going.
So, who is planning to attend?
I hope to have my 15' completed by mid September, and this will be her first longish trip. I'll make the run south through the ICW from Charleston to Beaufort either Friday afternoon or early Saturday morning. I think it would be fun to have a group run from Charleston if anyone is interested.

I might take my Outrage up there from Savannah...I'm not sure how long a trip that is by water. I haven't been before - is this a big event? What are the particulars?

Savannah to Beaufort is about 50 miles via the Intercoastal Waterway
The particulars are usually posted on whaler.com in PDF format once the event draws nearer.
That's one sweet ride, as well. I just repowered our 18' Outrage with a 175 'Zuke. Truely a sweet motor.

We are planning on going, but this is NOT a Whaler-subsidized rendezvous. I think that Sea Island Marine is putting this one on all by themselves.
We are going to drive up Friday night, come home, then come up in the Temptation (if it is back from the shop by then) on Saturday, spend the night, and run back home on Sunday.
Weather permitting, of course.

Just bringing this up to the top.
Is anyone from the Charleston area planning on going?

I have been to 2 of them in Beaufort and they were great!

Unfortunately, my 15' is still far from done. I'm waiting on some crucial parts that are being custom made.
However, I may take my dad's 18' OUTRAGE to the outing. I'm still on the fence though. I'll let ya'll know.

Just got back from the Friday night doings at Beaufort.
Although they said it was just heavy hors d'oevers, we had barbeque, oysters, chicken wings, bacon-wrapped scallops, bacon-wrapped oysters, cole slaw, hush-puppies, beer, marqueritas, daqueries, and soft drinks. Tomorrow night I am guessing RIBS (and all the fixin's).
We are taking the Temptation from Charleston tomorrow morning and will spend the night in Beaufort. You fence-sitters, come on!
