Hello all, Finally, I am getting around to posting some pictures for this summer's Rhode Island Whaler Rendezvous! We had six Whalers in attendance the first day and three the second. Just checked the post. On this 40 degree day here in Boston those pics are warming my soul. Newport RI was an awesome location for a rendezvous. I just sent the link to my son who is now playing in Las Vegas with the Wranglers...I bet he'll enjoy them too...Thanks for the pics and thanks again for a great day. |

Man, now I'm REALLY sorry I missed the trip. I started out Friday afternoon from Westerly, RI, but as I approached Pt Judith, one of my engines started overheating, probably from my new props being too big, although at the time, I really had no idea what the issue was. So I turned back for home. I didn't want to go home, as I had successfully kept that weekend free for the GTG for months, and wasn't ready to throw in the towel just yet. So I called the wife, and told her I was gonna spend the night on the hook behind Sandy Point. I was gonna sleep aboard anyway in Newport, so I was prepared... ...sort of. Because in Newport, I figured I would eat out. Therefore, I had no food on board. After the wind piped up, and the rain started falling, the addition of a growling stomach in the cabin was too much, so I picked up the anchor and went home. I am glad everyone had a good time. Pat |

Looked like fun, hopefully next year I will be able to be there for it. It would be worth the trip bringing my boat back home. The week I was there staring at the water, I was wishing I was on my boat! Matthew |

Ah! Warm memories on this cold winter night! This was a fantastic gathering, and I look forward to doing it again in 2008.
