I keep looking but I have yet to see a Kansas or Missouri rendezvous. Do they just not happen? I would be willing to have a get together on Lake of the Ozarks, or Perry, or somewhere similar if anyone is interested.

You are welcome at any of the Great Lakes area rendezvous - though I know that is a long way to travel!

...but on the bright side, you might win a prize for having traveled the longest distance to splash you Whaler.

Hang in there you landlocked inland brethren!

Forget it! The longest-travelled prize belongs to me!

What is the longest-travelled prize anyway?

You are most welcome at any GLBWCC-sanctioned event, boatn.

Internet says it's 1,232 miles from Toronto to Wichita which is a little too far for me but I must admit bragging I went boating in Toronto Lake while there is interesting.

David, surely the drive from Toronto to Copper Harbour is close to your drive this summer.

I forgot about that one! You're right, that drive was a few hundred miles longer.

Sorry about the thread hijack, boatn.

Several years ago we spent a week of vacation on Lake of the Ozarks in early October. It was a pleasant place to cruise around. We were waved over to a dock for a GAM with one fellow as we cruised by his place. He said, "When I saw you go by in a Boston Whaler with twin outboards I knew you weren't from around here."

Ahoy,

Lake of the Ozarks became home port for my Newport in July 08 when we bought a condo, second home, at Emerald Bay (on HH.)

Looks like we could be a fleet of two. S/B a few more around there somewhere since Lewis Marine was a BW dealer on the North shore until selling their Lake of the Ozarks operation recently. They are still a BW dealer from their St. Peters, MO (St. Louis suburb) operations.

I appreciate the GLBWCC's gracious invitations and hospitality. Maybe they could annex us as their southwestern outpost.

I really wanted to go to the Torch Lake '08 get together. Unfortunately, my wife's school district started classes the Thursday immediately prior to Torch Lake '08 so she was off to work and we were not off to Torch Lake.

Not much of a season left for Party Cove; so let's join up and check "things" out before the weather forces warm clothing on the folks.
